albert64 1,882
its normally about 6 wks when they get took off, just walk it and when you think its right give it a bit more time, if its still got one left on it might be a good thing to tape it up Quote Link to post
TOMO 29,203
if its just lost one and is going to be off work, then get to the vet and get the other removed. you will kick yourself if after 6 week off, first day back and it injurs the other one 1 Quote Link to post
troter58 1,711
like as been said get the other one off dont know why there not removed when there pups alb troter Quote Link to post
Tiny 7 1,694
Im with Tomo on this one OFF, They'll be back in the feild within a month with the peace of mind that it cant happen again, Or leave it off for a month to heal to be taking out and back to square one and you'll miss half the season and when you are finally backout the dogs fittness has dropped off cause off the lay-off that other injurys happen, Atb with it fella Quote Link to post
Malt 379
I had both of my dogs taken off after he split one along the length. He's been OK ever since. Quote Link to post

The one 8,592
At the time i was reading this i was in the same boat ,I was out with and the bitch put a diving tackle in on a rabbit came back limping she had opened up the webbing right round the bottom of her dew claw . It seemed like for ever but its just beem a month putting elasticated bandage and tape round it allowing it time to heal . But now she has a nice pink scar round it and tried her working again and its holding up .But first chance i get i think i will be getting then removed at the vets but i just cant afford to have the bitch out the game this early in the season :wallbash: Quote Link to post
runforyourlife 361
Doesnt take 6 weeks mate. Had both of mine removed off my male dog... He was back out working and running after 3 weeks. As long as the going is soft pal, you'll be ok..He is a far better dog for them going, he already had a big prey drive. Now its mental, they werer holding him back pal... Atb Russ. Quote Link to post
The one 8,592
The problem with my bitch is i would need to hold her back due to her breeding or high prey drive so just to be safe i would give her a bit longer .But hopefull thats her till the rabbiting finish's in april ,may Quote Link to post
