Lab 10,979
how many of you would welcome the sight of these in the UK woodland again? with the amount of prey such as deer & boar would that substain then? No thanks to any of these animals over here they would just be a nightmare to the farming community. Might make me think twice about wandering about the countryside if there were bears and wolves kicking around...
judge2010 196
what about providing farmers with electic fencing or livestock guardian dogs? how many chavs would try their bull x's on a bear or a wolf do you reckon.

Electric fencing could be an option where the livestock is in small fields but things like hill sheep would just get murdered. Would be some expense as well..... droid 11
Ask farmers in Northern Spain. I believe they're trying to reintroduce/extend the range of these animals in the Cantabrian Mountains. Edited August 16, 2010 by droid

judge2010 196
I dont think bears & wolves would be a good idea but introducing the lynx could work.
Wxm 1,638
just out of interest if any of these was introduced could you hunt them?? and what dog would take these?? also the hare was already here and they've banned that ... so i cant see them introducing anything in for people to hunt i can understand if 1 maybe attackin people or livestock then someone would be brought in to fix it
judge2010 196
good point mate. a dog might have a chance against a lynx but no dog would be able to hunt bear or wolf without the help of a powerful gun.

Ridgeback x irish wolfhound maybe decent?
