tdesnos 6
Hi all, Went down to the permission today, we only had about a couple of hours spare, so we thought we'd take a look a round more than anything and try to spot flight paths and good places for hides - of course we took the rifles along as a matter of course! to our surprise, despite the fact we hadn't cammed up and we're just walking around chatting we got a bit of action! My mate Truf, who I share the permission with, was walking up to a crest of a hill and just as his eyes met with the silhouette of a bunny munching away rather nonchalant. He figured it to be 25 metres, which also happened to be his zero! A quiet whisper from his S400 giving Truf a nice clean head shot, straight through the eye! for his first kill with the S400 and indeed his first bunny period! Congrats Truf! Meanwhile, I went off to inspect another field reported to be where the Magpies hangout. I was just walking by a bunch of trees where I caught movement in the corner of my eye, it was a quick rustle and then nothing so i assumed it was a blackbird, then my eye just met the eyes of a grey squirrel what had just froze broadside to me, perhaps 8 to 10 metres away probably 8 foot high. Clean head shot dropped it cleanly, though it landed in a load of thorns and I was due to have an appointment at the pub shortly so I though feck it, fox will get it. The other one was approaching the same hill Truf had earlier shot his bunny, I saw the very peak of two pairs of ears in the distance and decided to ninja it up to within range. By the time I had gotten to within, say 70 metres they scarpered! it!!! I moved a bit close up until I was within range and pulled some overgrown nettles over and in front of me and decided to wait for them to pop out after god knows how long, finally, a bunny popped out I clicked my tongue and it ignored the noise, I was hoping it'd stand up (John Darling's tip), but I'm obviously no JD so I took the shot - nice clean head shot. I was very surprised actually as I was using a very small Brocock Contour that Truf has convinced me to go out with, I was dubious because of it's size, but it performed no differently to any other PCP and had the added advantage of being extremely light. Well, not a huge bag, but to say it was just a casual walk not too bad at all. Myself with the surprising little Brocock Contour .22 with a Simmons White Tail Classic 3.5-10x50 and Weihrauch Silecer My mate Truf with his new .22 S400 and VOS scope These photos of the permission aren't exactly great, but i thought i'd post them nonetheless 4 Quote Link to post

Eye shots = bad. Gotchya I'm sure Truf will say that was what he was aiming for of course! Congrats matey! Everytime i get a text or a call my hear rate increases in anticipation of that farmer calling! Next time i see him though i'm just going to be straight with him, if that fails i'm going to become more radical Haha only joking! Cheers buddy! Quote Link to post
