Ferrets as pets

Recommended Posts

i used to keep my 2 ferrets in the house and all ways thought the smell was hardly noticeable, until i went away for a week when i came home the smell was very strong. it made me think had it always been like that so i promptly cleaned out the shed and they now happily live in there.

Thank you everybody for your response to my thread "Can you keep a ferret as a pet' My missus read the replies and there is now no way on God's earth am I going to be allowed to keep a ferret indoors!

Thank you for the video. It seems the same as living with a hyper-active 14 year old on speed!

We've got a cat, so I think I will settle for that. She brings me gifts of moths and headless mice and baby rats. AND she poos outside. Yes, that'll do :smiles and thumbs:

Get yourself a ferret, a ferret court/large hutch & a few nets, then get yourself to a rabbit warren so your new pet can get you some proper presents... ;):D

there's a lady who used to post on another forum i was a member of & she found a jill living in an empty stable where she kept her horses .. she got her speyed & then got her a companion male .. got him castrated & they both live in the stables .. there not caged .. they do wander about ... if there not in the stable when she goes to feed them ..she has a bell she rings & they come from where ever they are in the yard

they have lived free-range for at least 12 months with no problems .. 99% of the time escaped ferrets will seek out people that's why they get found ... perhaps the busy stables & the fact thats theres people around is why they hang around
