just called ferret rescue in northampton.am after couple of jills.thought might aswell give couple of rescues a home.ol girl wanted £40 each for em. .wonder if she manages to rehome any????.

I don't know if it's the same in every rescue, but the one at wigan requests a donation of around 40 quid, but that's if they've neutered the ferret. Given that i forked out 100 per jill to my vets for spaying, 40 quid seems a bargain.

40 is not bad if its spayed/neuterd. saves you the cost of taking it to your vet and risking the vet charging more.

you would pay about £10 for a kit, then who knows how much on top to get it done. so i think £40 is a good deal

Aye, quite understandable if the stinker has been spayed or neutered. Most rescues are in it because they do genuinely give a shit about ferrets, but they would swiftly go broke if paying for the spay/neuter, housing, feed and other veterinary treatment of sometimes hundreds of ferrets with no return at all.

 

I am far more opposed to the muppets that breed 'unique' and 'fancy' colours in an attempt to make money, often to the detriment of overall ferret quality.

All ferts are speyed/castrated and vet health checked.

Normally rescues just ask the price it costs them to nueter em. Alot of em

do go out of pocket if they just ask for any donation as the majority of times

people just dont give enough.
