had to give it a go.

Recommended Posts

Arranged to meet up with a very good freind(also called andy, or basejumper on hear) of myn last night to try a spot of lamping. so he picked me up at around 7 30 and we set off to the permission. arriving at around 8 15 we set about getting the kit out of the van.

so gun bag out unzipped bi pod out and ready to lock in the mag, right mate thats me sorted "you ready?"

eerrr small problem mate! :wallbash: (oh for f sake dont tell me hes for got his gun or something stupid)

I cant get the charging adaptor off the bottel. the gun in question hear is a gun power stealth.

no probs in the builders van,(so i thought) wheres the bodgeing grips? 15 minuets later van now upside down were stood with a pair of pliers that are ony just big enough to gor around the adaptor.

so with my mate stood on the pliers and me turning the bottel we finaly got it off, thank god for that thought we were shearing the s410 there for a minuet.

so after another 5 mins of andy putting his rifle together were nearly ready. (sodding take down rifels)

off we set to check the zeros, with that sorted we go for a little stroll in the last houers of light.

not 3 mins in while im exsplaning just how many there are around hear my first shot presents its self. was around the 40 meter mark but was standing head high in the air side on to me. ahh bless you thanks mate. now couldent get down to the bipod as the undergrowth would have blocked my shot so from standing. so with the lead dinner being so kind as to give me the perfect shot,i took his offer gave him 2 mill dots of holdover and let rip. just a comical jump backwards and hes down with only the tail twitching.

off up to the other feild let this part of the land cool down for lamping later and show andy round the rest of the land. getting to the top of the feild i see andy stop and raise the rifle, whats he looking at?

pulled the scope up to have a look just in time to see bunnie do a flip and a wave. nice going there andy first rabbit of the year for you. a good size 3/4 growen.

we went back to the van for a drink and a fag to let it get dark proporly.

of back in to the feilds we go, now nither of us have any lamping exsperiace so was all new to us.

there were loads of eyes lighting up in one of the feilds but this felid is not part of the permission so had to be left alone. gutted.

had a good mooch around and saw pleanty but most were sat well out of range.

the few shoots that did persent them selves were taken resulting in 2 more a peice for me and andy. but on the down side we missed a fair few also do to miss judged distances, this really does become difficut in the low light.

with the weather as still as it was last night. beutifull evening, but was difficult to even breath with out the rabbits beeing able to hear never mind move around we decided to cut the evening down from leaving at 3 to leaving at around 1.

i for got the camara last night and my crap phone wont take a very good pic in low light, sod's law wanted the pics from my first lamping session. but lesson learnt.

so back to my for some beers and a little bit of rambo 3.

all in all a good night, with a few bits about lamping learnt. pleant more to go though.

happy hunting

Andy
