neil cooney 10,416
His puppy farming bill is worded in such a way that not only puppy farms will be charged large fees. Anyone with a few bitches will. This includes non-profit making hunt kennels and will hit coursing and racing greyhound kennels very hard. His animal welfare bill is worded in such a way that ALL hunting with dogs/hounds will become impossible. In this bill he hasn't used the word VERMIN. Everything refers to the "animal". It will be illegal to set an animal on another animal, ie. terrier-fox, terrier-rat, lurcher-rabbit etc. etc. If took to the word it would be illegal to use a spaniel to flush a pheasant. He also plans on turning a lot of Ireland into "no go" areas of special sites of scientific interest. He also plans on banning the Ward Union Hunt which he says is based on health and safety interests. His partner in crime, Trevor Sergeant, has admitted this is an animal rights agenda. If the Wards are banned Coursing and Huntings next. Wake up folks.

neil cooney 10,416
Might be working. At the moment the debate regarding the banning of the Ward Union Hunt is taking place and the Labour party has turned around and is now opposed to a ban on the Wards. Gormless is going mad and says he is dissappointed. Yet he's usually the one that turns around on things, ie. the puppy farming bill and the incinerator in his own constituancy. Some politicians have said they feel that the Wards is just the thin end of the wedge and that all fieldsports are under threat. Gormless has also said he tried to talk to hunters but it didn't work, bollocks. My own opinion is that the Labour party (who have been attending the RISE meetings) now realise how big this really is and that to fall out with fieldsports is political suicide. jigsaw 11,905
heard gormless on the radio today,he was critising the labour for turning their backs on them but he said the ban will go through tonight wether the labour assists or not.

Bryan 1,363
The one good thing from all of this Neil, is that no one will touch hunting with a barge pole after this. Seems like all this will go through, but Fine Gael will reverse any bill he puts through. Was at a RISE night last week and they said all Fine Fail TD's will support it no matter what they feel about the issue! Also shown what a petty b*stard he is, " the hunters thought they'd beaten the minister when the courts decided in their favour, well now the minister is having his way" Can't wait to meet Fine Fail or greens on the doorstep. Every party in Ireland is now supporting hunting, bar 5 green T.D's, who extracted it as the price to support NAMA and keep the coutry functioning financially. Let them crow today it's a long road yet. Bryan

neil cooney 10,416
Several FF TDs have said that they oppose a ban but will vote for it because it's what the government wants. Truth is it's not what the government wants, it's what the slimey greens want. With out the greens the coalition will collapse and Gormless knows this. No matter what issue the FF party brings up Gormless opposes unless they give him the Ward Unions. In effect the Greens are black mailing the Government. This was told to me personally by a TD. If they ban the Wards what will the greens want next and use blackmail to get it. Remember these assholes have another 2 years in power. That's why the Labour party has U turned on the hunting issue. It's massive and they know that.
neil cooney 10,416
A good turn out but could have been better. There was Houndsmen from Armagh and Monaghan. Packs from Waterford, Wicklow and Cork were there. ALL the local packs were represented. The North Galways and the famous Blazers were there. Several gun clubs and a few angling and coursing clubs were there. But I personally know of hunting folk that lived close by that I know for a fact were not there. Sad really. There's a lot of you out there that still think this is all about the Wards. Bollocks. On Tuesday evening the vote on the Ward Union is being held in the Dail. We need 4 more TDs to change their mind, so it's not to late. We spoke to our local TDs and they changed their mind and spoke in the Dail in favour of the Wards and opposed the bills Gormless has proposed. Get on the phones and e-mails folks, it works. By the way, I don't follow the Wards.
