piranha caught in kent

a piranha has been caught in a pond in folkestone kent! seen it in the sun online, imagine catching one of those :icon_eek: it took him 15 minutes to reel it in.. im sure hes glad didnt lose his fingers, anglers seen a fella dumping fish from a bucket in the pond last week! Nicole.

doesn't surprise me to be honest,heard of them turning up in various lakes,usually dead though,obviously people dumping them from aquariums :thumbs:

yea agree with you on people dumping things like that, not good at all, someone could get hurt. :thumbs:

They would only get hurt if they caught it and try to handle it.

Will be dead as soon as the weather changes.

your right mate,pity all the terrapins people have dumped in the lakes don't end up the same way,they can be a f*****g nuisance for fishing lakes :thumbs:

have seen a terrapin caught on double maggot a few years ago now there's some big ones around when your fishing you can see them sunbathing on submerged logs and some one as been putting catfish in a local water as well thumbs.gif john

Yeah I remember there was quite a craze for Terrapins when the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles came out over here lol. Most people soon got sick of them and dumped them once they had enough of their smell.

 

How big do they grow in the wild?

one of our local carp lakes is plagued with them,as you say regularly seen sunning themselves,bigger than dinner plates some of them,wonder what they taste like :hmm:

:clapper: :clapper: well thats what he says, he also said he felt an almighty tug then before he knew it had dragged his line 500 yards and was going all over the place.. he says it was thrashing around like crazy. :thumbs:
