hi ya folks

i bet yous are all getting bored of me now

well ok then here goes i went to the golf course again tonight after a quick zero the gun was on parr happy0065 so i wanted to try the falcon A plus in a 177 7.33 grains to see if the soft pellet made a harder hit.

well i took a shot tonight at a lased 37mtrs with a falcon pellet hit the brain with such a whack even i heard it and the rabbit felt it so thinking to myself i though i would try them on a magpie as it was pretty high in the try i walked back so i could get a nice 45dr angle to take the shot then the magy decided to move then i was left with a heart shot to the bird hummm not happy but i know the gun now and i know i can do it it depends on the bird if she moves again but no she stayed right there waiting for me to shoot her and i did .

the next rabbit was a kit taken again with a lovely head sghot at 46mtrs lased i am loving my guntuff range finder happy0065 i could just see the brain hole as i call it as she was small and in the longer grass so i took a good steady aim and lined her up for the shot then another rabbit was down and dead so in all over 3 hours work time with the gun i have had 5 rabbits and 2 magpies happy0065 so i would say these air arms s510's do work very well

here are the pictures of my game today DSCN1772.jpg a nice picture of the 2 rabbits together and this is the rabbit head shot at 37mtrs in one end and out the other very clean indeed falcon pellets IMG_1072.jpg the heart shot on the magpie IMG_1070.jpg the gun and the rabbit IMG_1073.jpg the gun and the magpie IMG_1071.jpg the gun on her own IMG_1067.jpg

i hope you all like the pictures

hi ya folks

foegot to say the lamp is an ultrafire lamp which is very good as it was the first time i used it tonight the yellow lense is the back cover off an old scope cap  and works very well and really didnt spook the rabbits and it was free the cap and the ultrafire cost me less than £20.00 all in

Nice shooting mate.

As for the heart shot, I always go for that on small vermin and birds. Head shots are just too easy to injure them without killing, whereas a shot in the chest invariably ends up with a swift death. Only exception is bunnies, as their chests can offer a bit of a hard target for airguns. The thing with most small animals is they move their heads around too much for the headshot to be comfortable. Bunnies will tend to keep their head in one position long enough to give a reasonable chance at a shot. Maggies, and all the corvids are tough targets, pretty wily budgies!

hi ya

matt_hooks i know what you mean matey i do heart shots when needed but i like to do a nice clear head shot as i use a 177 and the small cal doesnt leave me much choice even on a heart shot if i was using my 22 then the heart shot isnt to much of a problem but again with a 177 as the smaller cal is very good and flat it can pass straight through in magpies and woodies even a head shot on a rabbit which i have had happen to me a few times using bisley magnums which are a very good pellet and hard hitting but at a close range can send the pellet straight and the rabbit can run i sent my terrier after it and he found it later on a good 800mtrs away from were i shot it even though it was a clean head shot the pellet had passed straight through and the rabbit didnt know it was dead even though when i got home i cut it open to check and the pellet had passed straight through the brain making a mess off it and came out the other side

thank for the comment matey
