Reporting live from what turned out to be a short trip.

I met wor kid and Shannon at his mams at 23:00, into the pickup and off we went. 50 mins later we arrived on the plot.

Zeros checked at 30M, mine adjusted as I was 3 clicks high and it was time to hit the ground. Wor kid and Shannon set off in one direction with me in the other planning to meet up in the middle.

I went through the first gate to be met by a badger, who quickly gave it legs as he saw the lamp. Scanning the field there was a few about 70M away. I stalked closer flicked on the lamp only to be confronted by bully who wasn't impressed with my presence so I made haste into the next field where a scan revealed 3 glimmers, 3 3/4 grown kits all within my zero I lined up the first shot and gently squeezed the trigger.....the telltale thud of the pellet hitting home sent it spinning like a gymnast landing behind a clump if nettles. The other 2 just sat there as though nothing had happened so the second and third shots followed through both hitting home knocking the bunnies for six. I walked over and collected the two that were more or less sitting together then went to collect the third, where was it???...... I'm sure it landed here.... Only to find a bloody great hole in the nettles where it had flipped.....

I don't think it would have suffered long due to the shot placement, nerves must have kicked it down the hole

I met up with wor kid and Shannon and Shannon decided she didn't like night shooting as it was boring and scary so we called it a night

I've asked wor kid to take a photo of the 2 I got as I gave them to him for food for the newborns and forgot to take one myself!

Thus ends the last trip of my S10.....

Until next week when she returns after being pampered by Adi at A M Custom Gunsmiths...... Woohoo!!

Watch this space...... As Arnie famously said " I'll be back "

Shannon got scared Si, but given her age its probably to be expected, glowing eyes do look quite scarry for the 1st time, especially where I shoot.

Gary got the grief from Shannon wanting to call it a night ;)

Darryl that was a brill read buddy SPA :clapper:

Nice one Marksman, shame about the early bath though, but sometimes even seasoned lampers get dose of the creeps

It was her first night session to be fair and the pitch black countryside in the middle of nowhere with strange sounds is like you say even a daunting place for any seasoned hunter!
