Anybody got any tips on shooting squirrels, best time of day etc?

The fella on one of my permissions has asked me to sort some out for him, they've found a way into his hen house and are disturbing his chickens! icon_eek.gif

I've sent out the 'arms repo request' to my dad, his AA s410 is on it's way... gunsmilie.giflaugh.gif

A nice suuny day with a slight breeze, sat under some pine tree's, and wait for the little gits to drop bits of cone, then whack them, or dress up as a chicken and sit with a bowl of corn on your lap :D

i find just stalking round a wood will catch them out. if they're on the ground then they'll often shoot up a tree whenn they see you and stop at the first 'V' to check you out. this is when you shoot them. although the littl buggers often go round the other side in which case you send your mate round. or just find an area where they are seen often and sit out. they're not too bright and if you spook one it won't be long before its back where you saw it last.

squizzer bashing is always more effiecient with 2 of you going through the wood land, they will be driven towards one of you and the one who has spotted one and driving it towards the other normally does a call to stop the other person from making noise,..... if you know what i mean.... :victory:

Just shot my first one from the place without even leaving home!:laugh:

The permission owner rang me up, he'd bought a live capture trap from the local farmers co-op and had bagged one! I couldn't get out to his to despatch it for him, so he brought it here to me.

It's now soundly sleeping in with the ferrets.....
