Guest MOLLY
Started to reminise today, thinking about where i was born, the house backed onto woods and we quite often found injured and dying animals and birds. They would be put in a cardboard box in front of the fire, force fed warm milk with whiskey. They all died, but i think they went to heaven pretty tispy That made me remember a couple of years ago i found an injured seagull flapping about in the middle of the road, the previous car must have hit it. I got out picked it up and put it in the footwell of the car, alive but very shocked. I had to quickly pop to my mothers house before going home. After a few mins at mothers there was a knock at the door and a rather surprised young lad said to my mother "Excuse me Mrs, but do you know you've got a seagull in your car?" The bloody thing had recovered and was flying around inside :11: :11: Anyone else rescued? MOLL.

mad al 146
]Yep, our big beutiful boy Graf, a Rotttie. Some cruel sod had bought him off a breeder we know, whose pups are £500+ and starved him. We never thought he'd survive, looked like a whippet, only thinner!!!, his bones were sticking through his skin and this resulted in sores/infection, couldn't keep his food down or in and he was so grateful for any sign of affection. He'd obviously been contained in a pen or something and just couldn't that all of a sudden he had about half an acre of yard to play in and that I'd given him a reclining armchair, where I'd sit with him in my lap on a Saturday and share a pint or three with him and our other hounds B) . The horrible side of his new found freedom was sore paws as he could run and play, but now, see for yourself....Al [attachmentid=7508 Edited November 3, 2006 by mad al

jultaylor1972 2
When I was a child my dad used to take us for walks in the country every sunday. One day my sister found a dead rabbit and wanted to 'rescue' it!! It even had no eyes left My poor dads face was a picture when he had to say no to her She began screaming the place down and just at that point my little brother fell into a stream and started to cry. What a day that was :11: My sister regularly used to rescue animals much to my parents dismay but as she got older they were alive at least :11:

Vets words, he had no idea where the dog came from, but it was a transport yard! Dawn.
J Darcy 5,871
When i was a nipper i had an array of "injured" animals, often picked up from the side of the road. Of course, non ever survived as they were probably well beyond saving. I once found a black headed gull that couldnt fly and took it home. I guess i was about 8 or 9 at the time. My mother got me a cardboard box and told me not to let it out. She went shopping and, of course, i let it out. When my mam came back there was seagull shite, the white runny stuff, all down the hall, stairs and landing.lol :11: this also died. then there was the newts i left in my trouser pocket when i was 6 or 7...but thats a different story....lol..
