Royston2 0
The first thing my bitch ever took was a deer a muntjac to be procise never paid any attention to any other quarry at all and at 8 months banged it over on the plough the next was at 10 months then she took deer ever since as being her number 1 priority nothing else really mattered to her so long as she pulled down deer..... Royston2 0
I'd give my left Bo11ock for a dog like that, You wouldn`t if all you was after was rat rabbit and fox cause she`s only just about taking to them now i had a whole season of one quarry and one quarry only gets a bit busy when they got to be skinnned gutted and jointed Quote Link to post
dai dog 11
what was she out of interest royston2? to self enter at that age? good going though, did she do the spectrum then in later life? pre ban of course! Quote Link to post
bill88 6
My lurcher bitch took her first muntjac at two years old, messy affair though, she took it by the arse and wouldn't let go.Had to cull the deer with the dog still hanging on to its rump. She's far more skilled now,and doe's the job by herself. We only ever catch them by accident though. MickC 1,825
I had my Bullx pup and his litter mate out with some older dogs one night and was letting them watch the older dogs running the Deer just to introduce them and give them an Idea of what I expect from them.My two mates had slipped there dogs onto a herd of Fallow and they had dispersed in all directions. As they were walking the fields one way I was walking sort of into were the other lads had been about 20 mins before.I was just scanning the feilds with the lamp and I picked out a hind walking up the fence looking a bit as though it was on wobbly legs so I slipped both the young dogs and they ran straight over to it and pulled it to the ground. The two pups were 8 month old at the time. The only thing we could think of was that the hind must have earlier on ploughed into the fence when the other dogs had broke the herd up thus making it half concused and gave the pups the perfect chance to pull it.I wasnt complaining.
