RaiderBoy 19
1. What can cause a sudden drop in accuracy? and i mean from 1 shot to another. well here the story goes about that, got my mother to go out and buy pelllets for me and you can only guess what she come back with fookin napier power hunter so anyway having baught 2 tins of this ####e i went out to check the zero and i was getting one hole groups at 35 yards anyway thaught this too good to be true filled up the 10 shot magazine on my raider 10 again and shot another 10 pellets into the same hole around the size of 20p piece. i was happy as a dog with a bone with this until i filled the magazine up again and was getting groups bigger than a golf ball one of them managed to miss the backstop of about 2 square feet how could this of happened ? the rifle was in my hands when i filled it up so i know i dident knock it. 2. How can i clean the my barrel DIY style because i have no means of transport and i have no pull throughs or solvent etc? i have some basic stuff such as multi purpose oil, wd-40, turpentine, alcohol. 3. what is the best scope i can buy with around £70 i will need it for mainly hunting during daytime and low lite conditions but i do like plinking and constanly testing myself and my gun on paper so i dont get rusty. the scope needs to have adjustable paralax and a high mag of at least 12x http://www.jsramsbottom.com/products/riflescopes-nikko-stirling/nsgc41242-nikko-stirling-gold-crown-airking-mil-dot-4-12x42-px-adj-riflescope-and-1-piece-mount.html Ive been looking at this but if anyone knows about anything better id be greatfull Cheers Richard ive been looking at this Quote Link to post
Alexisrouzee 6
hi bud, well im not sure 100% what would cause this... was the pressure up in the gun?? as sometimes when u go past the sweet spot shots do tend to stray...? another theory is that the napier pellets are whisper close to perfect on ur barrel but some are a bit smaller than others? ive seen people 'weigh' and 'size' there pellets before doing groups, if they are a bit shy of size then you wont get a nice tight seal on the rifleing of the barrel?? these are guess mind u!! i would maybe suggest getting an alright cleaning kit tho, as a good pull through after a few hundred pellets will keep accuracy up and as for the scope.... not a clue... ive had hawke, ags and a few others... and all have been okay? mil dot, 30/30, any particular rectical? but found this... NEW! 6-24x44 Pro Series Zoom Scope With 30/30 Engraved reticle Enhanced Green Coated Optics (mounts not included) £69.95 mind you that nikko glod looks nice!? ATB Quote Link to post

Phantom 631
You know if it had been Davy, Stealthy, Marksman, Festa, Zini, SweenyTodd or RiffRaff asking " What can cause a sudden drop in accuracy? and i mean from 1 shot to another. Phantom lol that was me a few nights ago tony went and zero'd 1p groupings at 30mtrs when i hit the ground 1st two rabbits i hit you could hear the thud but the little gits just ran off so i packed it in early id rather do that than go around injuring instead of killing i thought i must of knocked the scopes so before i got home i stopped off at my little zero range set the targets up and it was still 1p groupings at 30 mtrs so on this event it must of been the SHOOTER !!! atb gary Quote Link to post

JackReid 35
I once bought Napiers back i nthe day and had a football sized grouping... Maybe they are prone to flying everywhere if not perfectly sized for the barrell.... I tried working it out but went back to any other pellet and the problem was gone Jack Quote Link to post
Marksman 934
as previously said it could be clipping, damaged skirts, low on pressure or a wobbly shooter! as for scopes I'd definately 100% recommend these.... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/6-24X50-RED-GREEN-LIGHT-20MM-RAIL-TASCO-RIFLESCOPE_W0QQitemZ170466681346QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_SportingGoods_Hunting_ShootingSports_ET?hash=item27b09b2202 a lot of us use them on here with great effect mate, don't let the cheapness put you off! RaiderBoy 19
I think i found the problem which would be quality control of the crappy napier pellets the picture shows what i found when i searched through the tin, there appears to be two different shaped dome headed pellets which you cannot see very well, a crossman destroyer type pellet and i even found a few pellets of a lower calibre(furthest one to the left) all pellets are badly deformed and on some the skirts are unreaconisable atleast 90% of the pellets are unshootable as they slip out of my magazine becasue they are too small, and yes it does say .22 on the tin Ohh well it was a good excuse to spend a bit of cash anyway ordered myself a new nikko sterling gold crown airking 4-12x42 and a pack of rws superdomes, i hope these pellets are anygood as i payed enough for them Richard Quote Link to post

Marksman 934
Take them back to the shop where your mam bought them and tell them they are unfit for purpose! then ask to swap them for a decent tin of pellets Darryl Quote Link to post
Sweeney-Todd 208
Hi Richard. Glad you sorted the problem buddy. Look's like someone may have exchanged a tin of crap at the shop, and you were unlucky enough to get it. I would think twice about changing from napiers, especialy getting one hole groups at 35yds, thats good performance in anyone's book try another tin of them mate, but check them first!! I always take the lid's of any pellets I buy and have a good look at them before I leave the shop. Good luck with your new scope. ATB. Bill;. Quote Link to post
