ginger goatee 0
I have had a debate with a couple of my mates who clean their barrels regularly. I said, " I have read on a forum (doh - sad bloke) that a lot of the chaps don't clean their barrels very often. Something about a build up of led. y mentor and shooting buddy say you should clean your barrel at every opportunity. Opinions pleas. GG Quote Link to post
jamie g 17
if its shooting fine leave well alone. if the accuracy go's off then give the barrel a pull through. or a rod. it will soon be back on song. Quote Link to post
Deker 3,478
I clean all my guns and keep them clean, the centrefires every time, the rimfires very regularly! That's the way I was taught many years ago when I was a team target shooter with .22lr. It worked for me then and still does! Others will have their own opinions! Quote Link to post
langouroux 14
never clean mine. i shoot subsonic ammo that has that waxy coating. none of my mates clean their .22LR either. in fact a lot of my friends don't clean their centre fire either! Quote Link to post

The Seeker 3,048
I have no idea of the correct proceedure, all I can say is my 10/22 I used to clean after EVERY outing but suffered with a lot of jamming. I use this rim fire every week. I stopped cleaning it and now suprisingly hardly have any jams at all?? This to me seems totally the opposite of what should happen but thats my experience so to answer your question I dont clean my rim fire until its absolutely needed... Cheers Seeker.
