How many of you lot will slip into the woods and fields to try for an opening day buck.

nice one you lads,

I will be out most morning and evenngs till the crops get to high, then busy with the gamebirds and then the rut but april/may are my personal fravorites, with the bucks chasing each other and the barking coming from cover always gets my blood racing.

Agreed wireviz ,the opening buck is special no matter the size and will always be mine too .

I'll be out on the 1st Plan is to bomb down to Dorset Wednesday evening to have 1st crack at a new permission down there... I say permission - its a highseat set in a 14 block of Douglas Fir but hey, size isn't everything.. hopefully. I've had the owner lacing the area with salt licks and carrots for the last month in the hope that it will draw visitors from the surrounding woodland

Same here the weather is crap might delay the start of the season that would suit me 2 inch of wet snow.

Not sure if i will be out due to weather. Nice wee video there john but the boy in the vid should have given the beast 5mins to settle after it picked him up at about 3.57min in the vid. He crawled on whilste the buck was locked onto him it new he was there from then on as it ran straight away once up it new he was comming. Bet if he gave it 5min for the ears to settle back it of mearlly stood up & looked to see first but obviouslly it couldent be shot due to back stop & its a buck but nether the less fun & good to do & whatch.
