good day shooting tree rats

Recommended Posts

went out the other day to get some tree rats that i had seen while out with the dog i new were they would be so i stalked along the a hedge and up to an old rotting tree and sure enough they were 2 sat there they had not seen me coming so i put the cross haires over the one furthest away and pulled the triger and wack then fudd stone dead and on the deck. i was amazed that the other one was still there squatting on a branch if it was not for its tail blowing in the wind i would not have seen it. i had to move about 10 yards back to get a good shot on it i fourght it would make a move when i started to move but it stayed frozen still so i rased the gun and it sat up and i fort it was off but it stayed for a few seconds too long and that made tree rat number two. i waited about for about an hour but no more showed there face. so i had a stalk round the wood soon as i got in there a bit of movement caught my eye it was a woody in a conifer bush but as soon as i lifted the gun it hoped deep into it so i moved back slowly and sat with my back against a tree and after about 5 min it showed its face, i all ready had the gun up so didnt have to move much and wack a woody in the bag.had a little wonder round the wood seen a cupple more woodys but they were off like grease lightning.just as i was a bout so set of back there was am other tree rat hopping from tree to tree so i followed it for a bit and it stayed still long enough for me to get a shot off but i missed but it stayed in the same tree and i had time for an other shot and i didnt miss the second time. on the way back to the rotten tree i seen a rabbit and a few more woodys but the were off like a shot. got back to the tree there was a tree rat at the top eating some thing but it seen me and it was off it only went about 3 trees away and there was a shot on so i droped it and it fell into some thick branble bushes and i could not find it. but all in all it was a good day and a good bit of luck involved. i will be back for the rest in a few days.
