crayfish

Hi all,

 

First off i'm not an angler or anything but, thinking about going for Crayfish this year to tide me over till Sept and then back to game

any advice welcome.

 

Would also love to start fishing but, have not got a clue which is a shame with all of the lakes and rivers around here anybody?

you may want to try a purpose made crayfish trap from ebay! we usually buy a few tins of the cheapest nastiest tuna and just pierce it a good few times with a knife and use that as bait....lasts ages and they cnt actually eat it! works for us in the warmer months. we usually avaerage 30ish a day in the summer. chuck em in 1 day ,check em next morning! hope this helps!

would it be worth asking local anglers where to go? i mean i've heard that most anglers regard these as a pest!

licence is a must after looking on the website thanks for the tip

 

Anybody in the Rose of the shires willing to give me a few pointers for a first time angler?
