jigsaw the only way is to get a box and go on paper but the drop might not be the only differance could go left or right the bullet might not suit the rate of twist!! ect the paper could look like you shot it with a shotgun !!!! now pm snapshot if he don't see this post he know more than i do,

best of luck with it,

and the same for the sako's i'll try and get you the data,....

You need to shoot it to find out. Each type of ammo will produce different velocities from different rifles and it's unlikely that whatever the ammo maker gives as a velocity will be the actual velocity produced in your rife.

You can put one bullet at one velocity into a ballistic calculator and another at another velocity and the program will tell you where they will be in relation to each other but it's useless if you don't know what velocity each is actually doing in your rifle.

Sorry people but I have no idea what a ballistic calculator is :icon_redface: what does chronographed mean, lol.Snapshot is the info on my first post not what you need,if not what else do I need to know.Seriously I havent a clue on this stuff(its obvious I think)I was shooting the Remington 45 gr bullet yesterday and they were spot on,even a shot at over 300 yards hit the mark, but I have a box of Saiko bullets and would like to know before I try them if the difference will be major.Im going to try and shoot a few at targets and see how they go.

what does it say on the boxs of ammo as regards style... ie... accu-tip remington...? as each style will have a different velocity... and bc.

remington brands of ammo.

This amounts to what everyone was saying. You can't predict in advance how one type of ammo will perform based on how another type performs.

I've tried my best here mate and with the info i could glean from the net and ballistic calc... i'd rezero for the sako 55g your talking about 200 to 250 fps slower than the 45g remington's

but with the 45g remington's going that little bit faster, they have nearly the same ft/lbs of energy at 200 yards....

but the 55g sako gamehead will have better weight retention on impact, and you will need this to shoot goats humanely....

As for drop there really won't be alot in it..... so rezro with the new 55g bullets and your off...

Snap.

Charts, tables and ballistic figures on any site will at best only ever give you an indication.

The only way you will know is when you fire them. Weight and speed is only part, BC is also important as is barrel length/harmonics...and mods/muzzle breaks, barrel age, wear etc, etc!

And whilst in principle any ammo should either be up or down without crosswinds, for some reason there are those that kick left or right as well.

have fun!!
