dogs-n-natives 1,182
I often see fox tracks going over ponds, rivers and lakes when they freeze over. And I always wondered how they knew that it was stable enough to support them....? Well, this one wasnt using his senses properly.... heres a pic from the telegraph... I nicked the link from another forum, as I thought it may be of interest! http://i.telegraph.co.uk/telegraph/multimedia/archive/01556/fox-in-the-ice_1556541i.jpg

J Darcy 5,871
Poor fox! I saw a whole series of fox tracks stretching far and wide across the lakes near home. My friend and i wondered if they ever got stuck, so obviously they do.....

runforyourlife 361
its mad that this post has come up. As my dad came around today, and told me a story. He was walking along a canal on saturday somewhere in stafford. only 50 or so yards away from them was a fox "crossing the ice"!! It tip toed with every step as if it knew that it could break at anytime. he actually said "how do they know".. TO WHICH I COULD GIVE NO ANSWER..
