out for an hour

I went out at 1100hrs and packed a few pigeon decoys and took my mat to sit on and got wrapped up warm and set off but first things first i wanted to try the new webley venom xtreme pellets i had already prewashed them at home and lubed them up and upon ispection they all seem to be pretty good and create a really good seal in the breech which i have found to be quite hard in the past as the begining of the breech measure 5.75mm and the skirt on these is 5.75mm and quite soft so happy days  anyway set up some targets at 30meters and had a quick blast an to my suprise they are just as accurate as accupell and even with the weight of the webley xtreme being 15.1gr compared the accupell 14.3gr i didnt have to alter my zero at all i fired 5 shots into target and they all group about the size of a 50p which aint bad considering i only resting agains a tree and they seem to hit a lot harder :boxing:

i then headed off into the woods a bit and came accross a group of woodies sat about what i thought was 40 meters they started getting up and off but there was 2 still sat bobbing there heads geting ready to go and looking for a flight path so i knew it was now or never so i lifted gun up put just over 1 mil dot over and unleashed the 15.1gr of lead towards the big fattened woodie and watched him laugh as the pellet hit about 5mm to the right of his head as it hit a branch so he packed his bags and took his mrs with him leaving me sick as a parrot as it had now started raining :wallbash: bad times

after about 10 mins the rain was comming down quite heavy now and i took shelter under a pine tree on my little mat so i thought i might as well put my deocys out aswell so off i went putting them about 25 yards from me in a corner with a nice dead old tree for them to land before going to ground about 30yards from me ,

i must of sat there about 25 mins and i handt seen a bird in the sky but there was a squirrel about 70 yards away grubbing through the dead leaves on the hedge line so out come my secret weapon the 2 10p pieces  which i rup together to creath like a chattering (you can rock in the corner of the room as this also helps lol) and he sat up like a meerkat and begain a path towards my decoys stopping every 5 paces and sniffing the air he got about 5 yards away from my decoys so i stopped the chattering and he stood still so i picked up the bsa lightning found him in the scope and put cross hair on his beady little head and released the new .22 webley venom xtreme 15.1gr pellet ripping towards him stpping neatly just below the eye :gunsmilie: oh yeah  not even a kung fu kick

by now the rain was really heavy so i decied to call it a day and headed off home a bit disapoited by only the one in the bag for an hour but still one in the bag

hi kev

nice read,& pic.and nice shot on the squizzer,me tinks you will have to tighten those groups of 50p.

but good work with the 2 10p's to attract it in, haven't hered that one before.

will give it a go next time i see a squizzer beyond my zero

well done, good start to the new year.me even tinks that may be the first 2010 kill on the T.H.L

oops!!

i'll take that last comment back! just seen when you posted it :tongue2:

i didnt think that grouping of a 50p was to bad considering i was just stood leant against a tree with a springer i think if i was to put it in a rest i would get a lot closer when i was last up at zini's place we put my gun in rest and was doin groupings of 1p piece with accupell at 30 yards

happy new year all
