MR TEA POT 1,287
Nipped out for a few hours ferreting took the old man with me,who had a chest infection,i said don't bother coming but he would not listen. So we are driving down to the farm, the old man having his third coughing fit in half an hour, decided to spit it out the window. He spat it out wound the window up and turned to me..........and there it was, something green hanging off his chin   .I said wipe your chin you dirty barstool, but he couldn't do anything for laughing then i started laughing the car was all over the place. So we pulled up to the field,it was water logged,so put the car in 4 wheel drive and over we went.Gets to the warrens to find the farmer had cut the hedges fecking throns everywhere .So nets down ferrets in and waited,5mins WHAM rabbit in the net,and that was it for the next 5 setts, the ferrets where coming out wet,so we moved to another hedge which was a bit higher up.About 20 holes on this one,set the nets, ferrets in then SUDDENLY.....................my dads fecking mobile rang the ring tone was battle of britain at full volume it was like a flaming disco, the trouble was he DIDN'T know which button to press to answer it so he is like"hello, hello"and the bloody thing is still blaring out,so jumped the hedge snatched the phone and answered it.It was my mum asking"have you caught any yet?" .I chucked his phone back at him having turned it off.So no rabbits from that sett.So on to the next one, nets set, ferrets in standing there i could hear a noise, like a scratching,so up and down the hedge looking, could still hear the noise it was like somebody dragging a sheet of plastic.Looked over the hedge and you guessed it,it was my dad undoing a murrey mint it must have been the loudest wrapper in the world,so after giving him a serious look,a rabbit bolted on my side quickly followed by a double bolt on my dads side .Took another 3 rabbits from that sett and called it a day it was very cold by now and i think the old man was suffering a bit stood around. A bit of a long post, but just telling how it was. A few pics. The hedge we did. The last warren of the day. My dad looking like a russian with his white jeans on posing for the ladies The double bolters. And the end of day shot. Quote Link to post
