wild rover 548
Hello mate, lots of crosses make good ferreting dogs, the usual beddie/whip, collie/whip, whippets, are all fine even larger crosses, bed/grey, collie/grey or multiple crosses of those mentioned, I have ACD/Grey first cross 24 1/2 inch and good ferreter, also a 21 inch ACD/GREY/WHIP who is good cross, also the kelpie crosses ane good for ferreting. Guest warren
Nice to see your 'new boy' out and about Warren... This old gal was a fair enough ferreting tool..... Merlin is coming on nicely thanks CHALKWARREN. If I will accept the facts he yips on some rabbits then he as great potencial as an all-rounder. That old gal by your side there CHALKY was a TOOL and I only ever seen her on the telly! Regards Warren Edited November 19, 2009 by warren Quote Link to post
Guest reload
I think warrens right, its as much to do with how they are bought on, than exactly how there bred.....Being a bit of a lone hunter by nature I haven't seen huge amounts of diffent dogs work with the ferrets, but dogs with a splodge of collie have always impressed me...
