polecat93 4
why have 3 ferrets down a set a once are they big sets ?? no but they go down different sets seperatly but instead of having to take the collar off every time i would like to be able to just put them down , and yes 2 jills will be working together on big sets Quote Link to post

You can use as many as you like . The locator will only pick-up the collars that are within 16feet (Hopefullywhistling: ) anyway . If you have several ferrets together the signal might get a bit lively until you turn the sensitivity knob down and start to home in on the individuals . Still a few Mk2 collars about-they are black plastic instead of grey like the Mk3 .These can be a quite cheap second hand . They tick a bit faster (hence chew up batteries quicker than a MK3 collar) this can be a usefull way of recognising different ferrets below ground if one has a fast ticking MK2 and another has the slower Mk3. stealthy1 3,964
Collar all three up and stick them down if you want, I dont track my ferrets with a locator, I only look for them when they're out of touch for long while, if you start to worry about one of your ferrets, just box the other two up until the third turns up Quote Link to post

stubby 175
why have 3 ferrets down a set a once are they big sets ?? as already stated, as many collars as you want, sometimes when ferreting large sets, we can have anything from two to eight ferts down at once, they tend to bolt alot more with lots of ferts down, sometimes you'll find with a lesser amount, the rabbits know the warren, the ferts dont, so they can out run them underground, having a large amount of ferts down, dos'ent give the rabbits the option, they just think RUN!!!!!! socks 32,253
we can have anything up to 10 ferrets working at once in real big warrens and as has been said the rabbits move a lot quicker .... all are collered up and the locater works fine ............... Quote Link to post
theferreter 311
i only bleep my ferrets when ur down a while most times they usally come out them selfs even if they have made a kill and the mk3 pick up more than 1 collar at a time Quote Link to post
runforyourlife 361
why have 3 ferrets down a set a once are they big sets ?? Your obviously not a big ferreting person, yes you use many more ferrets in big warrens but you can easily use 3 in a small one, takes half the time to empty it and press on to the next one pal...
