Guest savageboy
So what your saying is that you want your pup(s) (??) to catch rabbits before they can retrieve properly? I for one do not encourage my pup to chase rabbits, as for starters shes too young and she isnt retrieving perfect yet, if she happens to run after one I do not stop her, obvious reasons. You also Will teach her sit & stay lateron in life? This is much easier done when they are young. Same can be said for stock breaking, and if worse comes to worse the pup is not going to be able to inflict as much damage as when it would - fully grown. matey what the f**k are yer on about , who said hunt rabbits then teach it to retrive , lol and who said encouage pup,s to chase rabbits. for fucks sake . get a f*****g life. me pup will start hunting in winter which will be ferreting , then early next year she will start lamping when she is ready which could be christmas time or after.. when any body gets a pup yer teach it the basics any way sit lie come back all things like that and you play retriving as well its all fun all these things are done while growing up, while out exercising yer may get the odd rabbit run across the path of yer pup , and it will chase it , it will not harm her , BUT DON,T FORGET YOU ARE EXERCISING YER PUP NOT OUT HUNTING RABBITS YOU ARE NOT GOING OUT AND SLIP YER PUP ON RABBITS , has this now sunk in, do you now understand , why is it so f*****g hard with some people these sites are surposed to be fun but its full of people who twist stuff , why don,t yer enjoy yer hunting and stopp saying such stupid questions. as i said befor what is your f*****g problem . Guest savageboy
like I said before, but the question got ignored  what are you going to do if your pup suddenly starts yapping or decides shes had enough one night when your lamping her. will you think hancocks dogs are great then? actually, it's not And when you say you're beign idol, is that like Billy Idol? :11: :11: could happen to any dog , . even if id brought a pup of you and it yapped would you take it back lol, or is it just hancock dogs that yap, lol. i brought me pup to get back into lurcher,s that i,ve been out of for 5 ish years what are yer problem,s its a pup , why does it bother you , with all the what if it does this lol, well if it does i canna do anything , i have a yappy lurcher it will still catch but in a yappy way lol. no mater who i brought the pup of if it yap,s i would not be taking it back , or to rescue centre , i,ll have to live with it . my problem i may even moan about it and join all you lot lol and moan and moan and critisize other peoples dogs , then i might even fit in on this site , . This has turned into an amusing thread, if YER know what I mean yes it has :11: . Quote Link to post

magnurs 0
red first post , then thats it, that amount of dogs surely one or two should make it, doesnt mater breeds for money does he not ? am a wrong ? and that worst crime ever Quote Link to post
mark.a 0
I can,t believe this old topics been debated again. You will never come to a conclusion to it on an internet forum, any one who breeds the amount of dogs he does is going to get a greater amount of duffers. Ive had two of his bitches , same breeding different mothers from storming norman, one has turned out to be an intellegent average allrounder the other one was scatty and without going into it to deeply CRAP!. I persiveered with the crap dog till she was four then gave her to a freind as a pet. Over the decades all the over lurchers we have had that have been bred from lads from proven workers, and to be truthfull have all been better dogs. In time when I need another replacment for one of my dogs I could go and buy another hancock dog and it may turn out to be a good one, but its a chance I am not prepared to take again. Nipper 0
Text book hunters, very funny!! Is there a checklist somewhere that I can use to mark off all the completed skills my running dog has acquired? Is it ok if I omit some of them? Like stock breaking to peacocks as I am pretty sure I won't come across any? Train your pups as they grow and this includes showing it live quarry. It doesn't need to master sit, stay or be twelve months old. As for recall, that starts the moment they arrive at the house till they die and is a subtle technique. Quote Link to post
Rabbithunter 456
i for one, think that teaching them Sit & stay, puts a bit of discipline into them. My labrador will sit & stay, you could walk a mile away and she'd still be sat there Quote Link to post
Guest markbrick1
are hancock dogs bred from proven workers NO ... are they kept in clean healthy pens NO ... are they correctly wormed as pups NO ... are they fed a nutritiouse balanced meal NO .... are sociolised in way shape or form NO ... are they introduced to other animals cars etc as they go through the learning period as a pup NO .... the list is endless ..... so why why why do you people keep singing his praises ?????????????? i for one wouldnt sing his praises but there are a % of his dogs that make a good grade i wouldnt buy a pup of him,and think he should be closed down but i bred of a working hancock dog and i would not use any shit dog to sire my bitch again it is what you make the dog a lurcher needs time and effort and it doesnt come naturally trained Quote Link to post
