If you look closely, at the picture, you can see it's lost it's tail & regrown a new one at some point, Newts do not throw their tails. Great pictures Goldfinch. Quote Link to post

swanseajack 228 Posted July 20, 2009 Report Share Posted July 20, 2009 The lizard in question is a Common Lizard, Sand Lizards are slightly chunkier, Commons look more like a Skink. Lucky to see the Adder though, I've never seen one in the wild before, nice picture! Its a grass snake Unfortunatly I found a dead one whilst walking the lurcher today Grass snake my arse !!! that's an Adder and very dangerous to confuse the two This is a grass snake !! fortunately for you it was dead !!
