Not had one but the T8 Reflexes have not had a wonderful press as many have rusted out due to their construction materials

I do have however own two Wildcat P8 s (one on my 6.5) they do not corrode and perhaps more importantly they are easily strippable to clean. New they are around the £200 mark

One bit of advice I will give is, whichever one you finally get, make sure at the end of shooting the mod is removed from your rifle. The heat in the mod will cool and cause condensation which if left on the end of your barrel will get into the all important crown and corrode its edges giving you an accuracy loss that can only be remedied by chopping off some of the barrel

hi, i have a tikka t3 hunter in 6.5x55. can anyone recomend a good sound mod and the going price for one... anything i should avoid or look out for? thanks, Mo

I have Reflex t8 on my 223, a Wildcat P8 on the 22.250 and a PES stainless on the 308.

I have extra bushings so the t8 will fit all three rifles that was the only mod I could afford at the time and have since been able to get the Wildcat and the PES.

The T8 is the quietest out of the three, it also absorbs the most recoil, but it is the biggest and the heaviest.

The Wildcat is the one I am least imprested with, BUT as all ready said it is strippable and therefore relatively easy to clean.

The PES it the one I like the most it is slim (like me  ) does not overhang the rifle too much and is light and doesn’t alter the balance of the rifle too much

If you are not prepared to clean and look after your sound mod then the Wildcat is for you.

And NEVER leave your sound mod on your rifle when stored. but if you must do it for some reason. stand the rifle with sound mod on upside-down Ned

Just a quick point...remember the P8 COMPACT...I started life with a P8 and then found the compact version, smaller lighter, no difference in sound reduction (certainly up to .308 anyway) and therefore better balance as well....just the same price as the normal unit though!!

This transforms the gun over the original full size version which looks a monster in comparison!

I have 2 T8's for a 25cal & 22.250 & they have done a bit of action & are quite good. They were some of the first out the BR-Reflex mods & there down fall was the non stripabilaty but when i come to replace mine it will be between a Pes T12/Jetz or an A-Tec. JLS arms have a good site on mods & rattings.
