lawrence 657
well pissed of with myself this morning, i obviously didn't lock the white jill's hutch right last night and this morning she's gone, the beddy pup barked for a minute or so around 12ish but he would do that if a neighbour was putting out a bin so thought nothing of it, the dogs are sound with the ferrets but theres loads of cats around here, our own included, which would make short work of a one, so i don't hold out much hope of finding her alive. she has 9 kits which are a fortnight old tomorrow, they were abit cold bit but all fine, so i stuck them in with the polecats litter of the same age, not sure how thats gonna go, she's nested down with them anyway, so fingers crossed but surely 17 kits is too much for her, its my first time breeding ferrets , is there anything else i can do to give her a hand, any advice much appreciated, thanks. para1 11
Put a live cage trap under or near the cage if she doesn't come back she will have been picked up so ask around. It would take a bloody good cat to kill a ferret so unlikely.I would recommend that you start feeding your kits good meat rabbit or/and chicken good luck.P1 Quote Link to post

lawrence 657
Good news, just as i was about to start rapping neighbours doors, one beat me to to it and called to say he had her safe and sound, was lucky there as his father used to keep them. meanwhile the ploecat has been doing a great job and all the kits were fat and warm, obviously there's no way of telling which kits are which now, so both jills and kits are in together now, all sound so far. considering the weight difference i would have thought a cat would mangle a ferret. Thanks for the offer mate but back garden is getting a make over (sorta). Got rid of my hutch and carring boxes a few years ago. Still have a few nets and ferret finder. Have thought about starting again but not sure I have the time. Cheers Bri Quote Link to post
