mackay 3,587
What age is the pup, I'm assuming with blue eyes quite young.
Sighthound 49
Had a blue eyed collie as the family pet when I was a kid. He was deaf, responded well to hand signals etc, very obediant BUT when he lost sight of you he was snookered! He learnt to always keep you in sight eventually, take him to a vet though. Dawn B 212
Sit him in front of you and keep his attention while somebody calls him, claps or bangs something behind him, NOT right behind him. See if he reacts.
Adam-RunningDog 1
think i will have to do that, he does listen to hand signals well too so i think he is deaf only listens if he is looking at you
lurcher lass 9
when the pup is sleeping or otherwise distracted like chewing a bone etc either clap your hands behind his head very hard and fast or turn on a siren of some sort like a rape alarm, to see if he responds to the noise also the vets can do a hearing test to not only determine if the dog is deaf or not but also the percentage too best of luck mate and i hope the pup is just going through a stubborn phase all the best lurcher lass x x x
Cold Ethyl 63
Sounds silly but have you checked his ears little dog down the park was classed as deaf by cat and dog home vet. When the folks took it to their vet turned out to be an inner ear infection.
