Can't get it up

Recommended Posts

Guest Scuba1

Ok, this is embarassing but we're all grown up enough to be able to talk openly about this sort of thing. Well, this morning I couldn't get it to swell. I tugged it, squeezed it, stretched it, and massaged it but just ended up with a sticky mess all over my hands. Eventually things started to happen but only after I'd exposed it to sunlight for nearly an hour.

I'm new to bread making. Is it always this tricky? Can anyone give me a red hot tip?

YOU HAVE GOT TO BE GENTLE YOU HAVE GOT TO GET HOLD OF IT WITH BOTH HANDS MASSAGE IT REAL WELL THEN START TUGGING AND STRETCHING NOT TOO ROUGH AND THEN ROLL IT BACK AND FORTH (WITH THE ROLLING PIN) THEN JUST BEFORE IT GETS TOO STICKY GIVE IT A LAST STRETCH AND SQUEEZE THEN PUT IT INTO A BAKING TIN AND COOK TILL NICE AND BROWN :clapper::clapper: LURCHERS LASS

Well that's no real help as its been so long ago that I can't remember. :icon_redface: But at least now I know why bakers get up that early to get started.

Dont believe a word of it  single bloke who loves dogs what more could a woman ask for  scoobs it could be because the water your adding is slightly to hot , i made some flat bread once & i think it was flat because i added hot water rather than warm , no matter how much i caressed the dough it wouldnt rise for me
