  1. Congratulations to Pat McGrath from Carlow who won the Master McGrath Challenge with his dog Joey. The heats had some of the tightest finishes ever including John Humpries dog Rebel beating Fiona Devlin's dog by a nose. My congratulations to the NILRC and the Bannside Club for organising two excellent days of sport for the lurcher, terrier and whippet community and for the sporting manner in which the results were taken. Three fine dogs in the final of the All Ireland Championships Show with Des Mackin's terrier pipping a lovely little lurcher and a fine whippet. Judges Tom Barry, Tracy Gill

  3. Saturday 20th July 13 Barrontop Fun Farm are hosting a Lurcher,Terrier and Whippet Dog Show and Raceday on Saturday the 20th July2013 . All the usual classes, lovely Trophys, and Cash Prizes for each of the Overall winners. A donation will be made to the Foyle Hospice from the proceeds of this show. Entry Fee will be £4 and £2 to show or race your dog. A big thank you to Albertj Tittering and the NILRC for a great days Racing. A job well done.   6. Shane's Castle is a ruined Castle near Randalstown in Co Antrim, Northern Ireland. The castle is on the north-east shores of Lough Neagh, and covers some 2,600 acres along its magnificent homeland shores .   9. As the rain pelted on our window pain on Sunday morning, it could not dampen our spirits, or our intention to be at the Sporting Whippet Club NI 3rd Dog Show and Race day of the year. The Dog Chorus rang out loud and clear as the trailer came out of the garage, making us humans very much aware,it was the Whippets day out at Dunsilly Co Antrim. There was a good turn out, despite the bad weather. The show ring was in immaculate condition, This we have to be very thankful to Victor Mc Donald,owner of Dunsilly Kennells and Race track. Sounds like a great day was had by all at the field of Dreams Scooling Track yesterday Sunday 23rd June.Well done to Ian Greer and Karen Woolner for impeccable organisation of the 2nd Dog Show and Race day at the Field of Dreams Schooling Track.. It is unfortunate that after quite a few terrier, whippet and lurcher events we get allegations of cheating, unfair judging, poor line judging decision, breeding of dogs etc. To make sure the terrier, lurcher and whippet events at the Game Fair at Shanes Castle are run as fairly as possible- as I indicated in an earlier post - anyone can make an objection on the basis of making it a formal written objection and lodging £40 with me or at HQ. The objection will be investigated by a committee that I will put together with a member of the organising club, myself and an independent person
