I think it depends on the pup, and the situation, like is it just you and the 'pup', or do you have an experienced dog the pup can watch? or do you mean to actively participate? in which case the sort of land, even the ground, dogs breeding/physical development, so many other things, like the dogs mentality, it's a very broad question and unanswerable without knowing the variables matey.
