  1. I was worried about the same thing, but got a new pup in January with no problems, I do have two others beyond the jealous one, so that may help, but all three older dogs who are a bit spoilt and don't like sharing me simply love the pup, they are very gentle with her, and in fact spoil her themselves. I would have thought it would be ok. Older dogs are generally very tollerant of pups, even where they wouldn't be of older dogs.
  2. A friend took these pics of my dogs lure coursing this weekend. These pics are from the match running at the end of the day. The black bitch (Tess) is 19" 3/4 whippet, 1/8 grey, 1/8 beddie and the white bitch (Nana) is a rescue from Sheya (Lurcherbitch) she is 22" and we think that she is a straight cross- whippet grey. I was extremely pleased with the little black bitch as even though she was at least 3" shorter and at least 15lb lighter than anything else she ran against she beat one and gave the other two a damm good run.
  3. RIP LIL Sounds like she was a truly amazing dog You did the right thing for her
  4. We got Josie off Lurcherbitch last September, she has been doing great all winter (catching things legal and less so) and getting much less nervous (she was scared of people when we got her). I took her to her first show this weekend and......... Reserve Champion. Nana (the white one on my sig) won me a fiver in the racing
  5. My little whippet bitch is 13 weeks at the moment and is already showing prey drive. She 'kills' every feather or leaf passing in the wind. Has savaged all her toys from a very young age and loved her first encounter with a fresh bunny last weekend.
  6. She's bred by Paul Cork of Lynperry Whippets: Gardens Lane Girl of LynperryX Kenmillone Silver Tongue of Lynperry. Predominantly Sooty Sam and Laguna.
  7. Last week running for fun I'm not good at taking working pics, I'm so impressed with the ones I see here. These pics are so much easier to take as I'm not concentrating on something else. Sorry.
  8. Got her in September when she wasn't eating. This was taken in November. She's fit and eating like a horse, and got me a muntjac not that long ago. Good on bunnies.
  9. but seriously I took her on her walk around some warrens today to get her used to the smells and she went straight down a hole (I caught her tail)
  10. Here's mine- retrieves live, seriously fast , good for rabbits, not bad for racing in the summer
  11. Nigh on impossible to lose them in the dark
  12. Just picked her up yesterday
  13. Here she is at 5 weeks- can't wait to pick her up Her father The whole litter
  14. Get someone in the same area, but not as near as you to report them to the RSPCA then your neighbour won't associate it with you.
  15. Someone I know in Manchester has found (well she's spent about a week trying to catch and finally got her today) a saluki cross bitch Here is the link to K9 where there is a photo and nore details. Apparently she brillant on the rabbits so they think she might be someone's working lurcher. http://www.k9community.co.uk/forums/index....30entry200580
  16. Josephine (the dog that wouldn't eat) looking better and better Nana our other Sheya dog Fun in the water Some (very tame) wild life (apparenly someone's spaniel killed one yesterday)
  17. We walked where there often are some yesterday but didn't see a single one , but I'm not going to do anything serious with her until she's a bit older and stronger (she's still a bit leggy and uncoordinated) and her recall is 100%, its getting much better, but she sometimes forgets that she's meant to be listening for me, but when I get her attention (by clapping) she comes running.
  18. She's absolutely shovelling it down now, she eats anything and everything (including wooden spoons and her bed) I'll take another pic of her later today- she's looking fitter
  19. Great looking pup sorry to be dim but what cross?
  20. Well Josie is just learning what a "HOUSE" is and why we don't piss and crap in it, jump on the dining table / windowsill / worksurfaces in the kitchen and howl all night. She gets on very well with the other two and is going to be a great asset when she's settled.
  21. She's great, settled in really well and eating loads (in fact she's been thinking about jumping onto the worksurfaces to eat even more). She's had a great time playing with Nana on our walks and has even had a swim in the Thames. She is currently spread out on the sofa with Tess.
