  1. potassium permanganate think that's spelling, I used to put that on wound after removing dew claws, and other small cuts and nicks stoppers etc, I can remember folk dipping dogs feet in it, wont stop any thing cutting the foot  if you run on stony hard ground you take the chance and fix after, ear cropping goes on all over the world .

would it be worth importing something like this over ? Have many times tought about importing something over , own something different . would love to line a pure something like the above to our coursing bred stock .

it gets done from time to time, and often when out crossing to pure, imported or otherwise it clicks, because of these out crosses to pure saluki I think our coursing stuff must be nearly 100% saluki genetically,  but  physically very different though..

Well its all relative at 1 time the whole village turned out to a dig and carried old brock to the village green to watch him run off over afternoon tea including the local bobby now they dint do that in the 70s and many years before that a good bull bait was the order of the day  so its been going down hill for a long time but now its at its crappest

our way off life has been taken from us by the establishment and no mistake. we be jumping the reservation next

I aint seen a hare for years mate but nothing ventured nothing gained

Put me down for a whole nest of 20 granders ill work them on the lamp and bit ratting

the problem is there are plenty in the coursing game, and im'e sure lurchers in general,  who don't get their money like you and me.

I see what your saying mate i had no idea as i just mooch about and fall over fairly regular

What is the most money these dogs can go for

how much you want to pay 20,000 pluss for a topper but a few matches and that's back if your lucky, then breeding. but very well bred pups can still be found for 250 ish from a top dogs brother perhaps.

But what comes with the money side also is alot of bullshit and over hyped dpgs that only a few see run for a season or 2 then they disapear.ive tried a few coursing dogs and seen a hell of alot id only give kennel space to a small handfull ive seen when thing get popular or expensive the overall quality goes downhill.

there will always be those sort mate but these days its a sight easier to get a hare killer than it ever was, but the failure rate is still high for obvious reasons, there far more rubbish bred for  money in general lurchers in my opinion  just not big money. and to just add the handler also has to have the skill to get the best out.

Flipping hell fire are dogs like these still going for big money

no one in the coursing game wants a duffer, so they will buy good dogs for big money, but if matching your thing soon get that back, and as for high stud fees lads club together and get a well bred pup for the right money, a big factor in the success of coursing dog development is because its been a competitive sport .

yes mate their mother, I am a very good sport but my bitch was robbed, I think they ran the hare to a small wood my bitch went in and pushed a hare out which the other dog course and won, could of been a different hare and I was in front I think at that point lol I lent my coppy to someone never got it back and cant remember who had it .

Nice that red bitch, very similar to a bitch i had 3 years or so ago, dont have her now, but heard she is doing well. She was bred off Mike, pure saluki to a good coursing bitch. STr.thumb.jpg.debb322179d51693b9904ee26d26d2d0.jpg

Not disagreeing with you that theres alot of shit about but how do you work out most of them are ? Not a dig or owt genuinly interested.

Theres dogs that have took everything the british isles has to offer everyone is in contact now we can look for the best blood to add to our dogs find out about differrnt qaurry to test the dogs on and listen to other genuine dogmen and learn bits from there mistakes. Ok so it might be abit harder to test a dog properly at certain disciplines but you can its just abit more hassle.youd think lurchermen would be movingforwards  not backwards over the years

its a lot easier these days you would think but people still breed from poor stock for money. need to take a leaf out the coursing boys book use the best blood no matter the cost.
