  3. another tip if binos tune in at ten feet [buy em] but dont do as i did 30 years ago. bought a pair of swift osprey. still got em [about 100 odd quid] seemed to get a bit sticky so i used the bad old wd 40 [degreaser] sure did sort em, cost me the same again to get put right its also suprising how many people dont know how to tune em in! using a pair of minox 8x42 now, suppose to be a offshoot of leica. dont no if this is true though [anyone tried em] i find them ok. about 200 odd quid

  8. same here bosun. had a grandaughter out of wild hob, came out of [ corwen way n/wales] handled all the time tried it working as mad as owt. it had to go. dark smart looking thing though

  11. guess at house sparrow yep..... top marks.... use to get em nesting when i was a lad in hawthorne, [local allotments ] never see it now. but saying that there was a small colony nesting in a high but well kept privet hedge not far from were i use to live.
  12. get them on rough /wastey ground round this way jd.and like most butterflies/ wildlife, i have found they are wary as hell of eye contact [my theory anyway] i always try and get the camera to my eye as quick as poss then move in. after i have given them time to settle but its like owt trial and error by the way what camera settings you using. my settings as follows is manual = flash on =iso=200/400=aperture=13/16 =speed=x two length of lens =canon 60mm macro =125
