  1. i got a double bow back box from them and to be hoest with the time and materials,i couldny have made it cheaper!and it is made very well.very light, strong and comfy to carry.i think it was 20 or 25 from them. would have cost 10 or 15 in materials(for me to buy)and would have taken a couple of hours to make and i wouldnt have made it to this quality anyway!

    Weather

when its hot ,i want it to be cool and when its cool,i want it to be hot!well, i am british after all! seriously,i cant stand being too hot so i prefer it cooler.
  4. crikey your brave admitting you actually communiate with them oh,we have some right old conversations....
  5. i always talk to mine as i pick them up etc! usually just a load of sh*t but i like to think they get to know my voice!
  6. is she mnot having them in the nest box?i presume not...if the worst comes to the worst,i would "hollow out a bowl" in the shavings in the nest box and place them in there and hope she follows to feed them.(touching them as little as poss with clean hands)
  7. how long ago did he get castrated? sounds like he's still trying to mate with her... as for losing size....not heard of it but i suppose it could be down to lower testosterone levels now? but thats just a guess!
  8. make me an offer. where abouts are you from?pm me ifm you prefer.might be awkward to post.... lol

    Help!

"genetics are not down to jill alone " but what if that jill was silver.........................??
  10. right...both poley coloured one are mits!(i think.)and 9 hobs and 2 jills!
  11. oh,that pic!i thought you meant the one of them feeding! dont kn ow if its a mit, havent had that close a look at each one... will inspect them tomorrow!(a mit is a type of colour/pattern where ferrets have white or pale feet and usually a matching bib too)
  12. now you've totally lost me! do you mean the first pic i put up? which pic?
  13. which one? the one at the top?
  14. its a moot point how many you get at first any way!if you dont like ferreting, you'll not keep the one.if you do like it,you WILL get another.and another.and possibly another!
  15. ive got the same "problem" just been given some A1 permission, crawling with rabbits, easy to get to the warrens, only thing is.....its part of a quarry thats now disused.theres a foot of topsoil and then its pretty much stone and shale!i know this because i installed a septic tank in it! im just going to leave it til well into the season to do so hopefully no lay ups!! have been told that theres a chance i could get permission all round the other(still used)parts of the quarry so dont want any mess ups!lol.(also in yorkshire)
  16. whats maybe worth a go? working them? dont see why not! i can heartily recommend it!
  17. right, so you think ferrets working is natural to them, but you think rescues cant work? why would they breed when the rescues they get in are fully capable of working if we are gonna debate, at least lets do it properly you misunderstand me,i meant how do they know they're doing something right if they didnt keep there own lines going? ive no doubt at all that rescues work well! never had need to try them myself though...
  18. who's to know seeing as they dont keep the lines going!
  19. maybe you should do your research too....the vast majority of hunting people care more about there animals than you'd beleive!and they DO keep thgem to old age and look after them to the best of their abilities.which includes letting them do what nature intended them to.
  20. they're really taking it out of the jill now which is why i thought id try them on a bit of cat food. i know its early but thet were straight into it ,ate nearly a full pouch in 2 mins!
  21. yeah, they just looked VERY blue! not so much now! there first attempt at feeding tonight....lol
  22. How do you breed 'responsibly/sensibly' a ferret that contains a lethal gene? the gene doeasn't know if you are being 'responsible' or 'sensible' i meant as far as you can be. i.e,not breeding silver to silver or any ferrets that are either related or known to have silver in there recent line. got to give it to you droid,at least you've got a sense of humour!
  23. pity you're not a bit closer to me! dont worry too much about the rabbit screaming,if your quick to get to the net and dispatch the bunny(first attempt!) it shouldnt even happen.
