  2. I'm going on holiday to the orkney s in December. I'm taking the dogs with me and hoping to run a few bunnies. Just wondering if anyone has ran lurchers up there and is the a lot of game up there. Anyone who lives up there and fancies a mooch out that would be great. Cheers John

  4. Me and my father in law go out,I've got Half x bull greyhound 2 years old Deerhound x saluki x greyhound 3 years old Lakeland dog 4 years old He's got Sire, dam and sister to my bull x Line bred coursing dog They keep us pretty busy!
  5. Thanks lads, I may just be panicking but it's only been 5 weeks on the lead and seems like he's exploding with energy! If he was let off the lead he'd take off. Thanks for the advice I will carry on with his training while he's injured.
  6. I wonder if anyone can help me out with a problem I may have in the future. My bull x has a slight hairline fracture of his hock,he will be on the lead for 4 to 6 months. After his recovery and rehab I am worried about his recall. He is 16 months old and I had got his recall up to a pretty decent standard before his injury and now I'm worried once he's allowed back off the lead will his recall be shot to pieces? Has anyone got any tips to keep his recall up to scratch whilst he's stuck on the lead. Many thanks
  7. I thought you would of been better off breeding a proven deerhound lurcher to a well bred bull or to a heavy half x to get that type of dog. Cannot seem the point of putting the modern deerhound into any hunting dog.
  8. My dad had a dog years ago a deerhound x greyhound. This bitch would take and dispatch foxes no problem at all on her own and also with his other dog. She went crazy at the sight of them and accounted for many over the years but the strange thing was that she would not take them if another dog was there apart from the one she lived with. Take them fine on her own and with the dog she lived with but not with another different dog. Anyone ever had a dog like that?
  9. That's a nice looking dog,in great condition.
  10. How do I post photos? Not too good with this computer lark
  11. Thanks lads, even if he does not get back to 100per cent he'll be staying with me. He will still have his uses. What's mag box?
  12. Looking for some advice lads. My 16 month old bull greyhound has fractured his hock. Has anyone ever had a dog with this injury and if so what did it run like once recovered? I know he won't be running for a good six months. Cheers
