  1. Cheers cranky lol u might be right but I do know a lad that had a pup out of same litter his has gone flat now aswell and it was his dog that was put over the bitch and he said that the sire was as game as they come but hid pup that hr kept he isn't happy with it at the mo so I don't know? Maybe it's a bit of everything
  2. Yer that's [BANNED TEXT] I thought there are two things that anoy me on here and that's lads that run dogs too young and the other is when lads run unfit dogs, an I would never do either of these things for many reasons
  3. Yer I had to make a decision Paul like I said this was at least the second time he has done this sometimes he just wouldn't even run when I slipped him on a rabbit, o well feel bad coz I really liked the dog but [BANNED TEXT] can you do if it lacks prey drive, it's a very hard thing to put in to s dog
  4. He was maybe a bit young when I started him but he seemed to be physically and mentally ready for it, think he was 14 months but maybe I was wrong to start him then?
  5. He was fit mate and he wouldn't catch before he ran home he would run the rabbit for a couple of paces then think f**k this and go home or run back to car like he did last year, I wish u could of all seen him to know [bANNED TEXT] he was like, trust me he did lack the drive and only used it when he wanted to which wasn't very oftenCould be a confidence thing? Has he missed lots? How many has he caught? I think ur right it might of been a confidence thing but he was completely different in the day ferreting and bushing and other stuff he was fine but when lamping it was just like he was scared
  6. Yes his recall was perfect healed like a lab and came every where with me, I have had 3 lurchers including him still got 1 and one died out lamping, I have terriers and also train labs for field trails so I am a dog man not just a man with a dog,
  7. 8. I started him late last season, it's not a training error as far as I can see he did everything perfect when he caught straight back to hand, but sometimes he wouldn't even pull on the lead when he saw a rabbit run just seemed not interested, and I'd never run an unfit dog that is one on my pet hates in the lurcher world, lads running unfit dogs and then wondering why they can't catch? Trust me this dog lacked drive or did it when he wanted to but if u couldn't be arsed he wouldn't, I am gutted because I put so much time in to him that's [BANNED TEXT] is even most fustrating that I have seen h
  9. He caught the rabbit and then ran home with it? No he didn't he ran it for a couple of paces then ran home which is [BANNED TEXT] he did last year but I just gave him time off and he came really good but still had a little doubt in back of my mind but that's [BANNED TEXT] he has done again
  10. he was only 18 months old back in august when you posted this http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/299757-saluki-x-whippet/ Lol I know I kept saying he was 18 months old for about 6 months so he is actually 2 ish nowIs 2ish? What's happened to him?Just seen post above. He jacked. Must be devastating that. Probably worse than losing him in the field to an accident. Knowing you've given them everything and they haven't got the heart. Did you PTS? I was gonna do the right thing but I know where he has gone he is not gonna be bred off and he will go out ferreting and the bloke who I gav
  11. I am gutted I gave him to a bloke for a pet and a bit of ferreting which he loved but he jacked on me last year and just ran most of the time half heartedley but gave him another chance because sometimes he would amaze me with his catches, but I took him out last week and caught his first rabbit and then ran all the way home on his second one across 2 fields and a main road, I am gutted but I can't trust him not to jack again it's so fustrating because he was bred really well and started off really well and I wouldn't of changed anything else about him apart from more drive.
  12. Cheers gaz that's [BANNED TEXT] I want something about 24 or 25 and not really wanting bull in this one as I have a bull grey, but saluki collie in nix would be good, the saluki x whippet was built perfect didn't weigh anything 25 tts I am gutted he turned out to be a jacker

  15. [BANNED TEXT] a prick, it prob has been tried and because he doesn't feed the dog it's got no energy to catch anything so that's why he is getting rid of her, there are too many wankers about like him Hope it finds a good home Atb
  16. Lol rc1 don't be so touchy it was not aimed at you at all but u know exactly [BANNED TEXT] I am talkin about when people advertise pups that are off a certain line of breeding just coz they know it will sell the pups Atb Pete

  19. i think there are alot of dicks on here who have all the the best dogs, but i use this site to talk to the rest of the normal people on here who like to talk and get info and find out what other peoples views are on here, i have been lamping since i was about 9 years old so 10 years ago, i have learnt alot off here and gained alot more info about certain things than i would of done if id come on here and put pictures of 1000s of rabbits saying my dog caught all these in half an hour in one field, i dont have the rabbit numbers round me to do that but i can well belive that some of you do, but
