    stroll out

i have been walking out and setting one drop of a 50yd net on some small burrows close to home for food for my ferrets since the 3rd quarter,so far the tally is twenty for 4 drops.a nice couple of hours out when the wind is right.here are two of them that i got tonight.(nice to have a living larder close by) all the best
  5. my liners on most occasions over the years have backed out the burrow dragging the dead rabbit after having chased off the laid up jill,is it just the fact that the electronics have replaced this aspect of ferreting.i would rather breed and train a liner than have a ferret finder, what did the ferret finder users do before the ferret finder was developed?to say before ferret finders, ferrets were just lost, not so,as martin says a box or propped open sack with hay, food and drink placed inside works.but this is time consuming as it requires a visit at first light next day,so maybe for some this i
  6. Pleased that ye enjoyed yeself mate. And that the ferrets did what ferrets do tend to do. In time ~ and with experiance ~ ye'll realise how that grin transforms to a deady serious look of alert concentration. Only, in your case, probably focused on that f*cking box. In my Very limited experiance of 'Box Watchers'; Yes. Those types do seem to throw all Field Craft, indeed " Hunting " to the wind and learn to depend soley on electronics. The ferrets become quite peripheral and the most important equipment becomes the box and a spade. Two sorts of " Ferreter ", if ye like. 1/ Traditiona

  16. i aint fussed about the £60... if it dont work with the ferrets id stick it in my planes... and obviously if it dont tell me the depth i wont be using it. but as the add says it searches up an inch ! richie before i forget i have a mk3 locator, but theres no harm in trying new methods..... as i say you could always use this for working dogs aswell. let us know the results richie, could be good
  17. the flowerpots have holes in them to allow them to investigate every nook and cranny.they are fixed to the above walkway so easy to lift up the whole thing, place on top walkway for easy cleaning, plus making it more sturdy and safe

  19. the water bottles have gone that colour with age they are about 10 years old,one of the peculiarities of plastic perhaps? 10 years? Bloody hell your lucky! Mine go green after about 2 days sunlight hello gibby, mine may have done, they have been in a box in my shed for ten years as i am just starting again this winter after a ten year lay off, previously i had kept them since the age of ten(wish i was again, then i could have all that fun all over again ).the area the court is in will eventually be roofed over as with changing weather patterns i suspect the sun will be the biggest thr
  20. hello stubby, the top section raises just to make it easier to clean them out (i put them in their carrying box),as for the toilet corners i clean them out every day and disinfect with animal safe disinfectant.i will be cutting holes in toilet corners and covering them with mesh with container below now they have settled to using 2 particular corners rather than every one they could find.woodchip and sawdust have fine absorbsion qualities, but the waste will attract flies(disease) if the waste falls into a container with disinfectant in it should minimise this problem thus making healthy, happy l
