3/4 bedlington 1/4 lakeland..... excellent worker, hell of a good nose and was 110%, if there was one to ground you'd know before you even took her off the lead, she'd be turning cartwheels and screaming down the entrance... one of the hardest bitches I've ever had... overly hard, she would take unecessary punishment and be off for weeks on end...

It rained, then rained, then rained some more........................ There was feck all on the fields, couple of long ears and a fox that came right up to us and popped in the hedge, before I could take a shot :whistle: the rabbits were noticeable by their abscence.... I'm in Wales... there's a ban here as well... If you're out to kill foxes the surely, the cleanest most humane way is the best... or do you think toying with them at the end of a dig is acceptable or necessary ? I have an opinion, I can say what I like.....

I had something to say, so I said it, just because you don't like what I said doesn't mean that it was not worth posting... constructive advice on the real question, your dog is 13 months, has killed on top, I take it with his bull blood he has a very strong jaw and is more than capable of killing a fox.... he is old enough now, if you think he's ready then he's ready, there's only one way to find out.... might jade him a bit if there is a big dog fox in there that latches on to his nose and he cant pull it out... might ruin him, but hey just remember you could have shot the fecker then an

Show some respect for your quarry... killl it humanely,,,,,,,, If you can't get a clean shot and the only option is to use a draw dog, then so be it but these circumstances are very few and far between....

I'm not stirring or starting an argument, digging hasn't been banned so let's clear that up... Legally you can dig foxes in this country have a look at the hunting act, Game bird preservation etc etc... for you... I would suggest making the hole bigger, removing the terrier and shoot the fox... It won't be long before terrier work is banned if lurchers are used at the end of a dig... especially if you blag it up!!!!! "possibly wait till the cubs and enter on them!" ffs...

Simple question !!! Why do you think you need to use a lurcher at the end of a dig, why not just shoot the fox, It proves nothing letting a lurcher in to finish of what a good terrier has already done, all it does is boost your own ego... I don't give a f**k whether you're in Ireland.. We have enough shit over here without you posting questions like this, then some macho answers coming on after.... !!!! There's a load of shite going on at the moment... so here's an account of what I got up to today!!! All legal and above board... At 9:30 this morning I was up in arms with something some twat had posted on a hunting site... At 9:40 I had a call from a chap that was looking after a shoot (call it what you will) some game birds on there, some wild birds on there!!!! A fox problem, foxes had been taking birds from this area, they needed controlling.... Of I go Lurcher, gun, terrier, oh and another Terrier that was good for bushing....... work a few dense covers, saw a few foxe

Yeah! Me Night time hunter I'm not or haven't been for a least ten years.... more of a PC virtual hunter in the night!!!
