    yes, i know what you're saying, but the shots are no good...it's not just yours, mines the same. They are simply not crisp or sharp. I do not rate the 70-200...however it is versatile fro me doing still shooting, but for any kind of action then forget it. It all depends what he wants the lens for i guess... fook me we agree on something one thing i will say about extenders the Kenko 1.4 at around quid is from what i can see nearly on par with the canon but a third of the price, although i have to admit i have not been happy with the the shots taken with either the Kenko or the canon

    if you have a slot on your ticket its a no brainer if your after an air rifle, all the advantages of an air rifle and on the whole half the price of a sub 12ft lb. i had a rapid 12 and it could be used between 12ft and 42ft lbs, .20 cal is great but struggle to find suitable pellets for anything higher than 26ft lbs

    all depends i suppose on what you want to do, how far you want to go and how much you want to spend, to me the 70 - 200mm is great for mooching about the countryside with, not too heavy or cumbersome, if i was going after a shot that was either set up or guaranteed then one of the bigger more expensive lenses would be the way i would go but for mobile snap shooting on the hoof then the 70 - 200 suits me fine,

    I got caught in similar circumstances but I was on a public footpath near my vehicle. Gamekeeper collared me till police got there, they took my lamp off me and interviewed me but dropped the charges a day before my court date. Lasted 6 months but I got my lamp back. Point of story is admit feck all Ps they told me I could have my lamp back the day after and I wouldn't be charged with anything?? They 'lied' the gamekeeper has no right to detain you for at the time only guilty of tresspass which is a civil offence. If he made you stay against your will that's borderline kidnap. Artic,Artic

    a 70-200 f2.8 with a 1.4 extender will give you 280mm at f4

    how deeps your pocket if money is no object then an L lens 70 - 200 f2,8 or the cheaper f4 the IS does make a difference with hand held shots

    great around horse padocks and anywhere the rimmy would cause an issue, you can pick up some real good gear very cheap compared to sub 12ft but when you ever come to get rid then the market is very small,

    it also helps when theres not threes 70lb dogs pulling your other arm off at the same time teach them to walk at heel don't tell me you're blaming your shite pics on your poor dogs??? :D some of them 100% its not walking to heel that the problem, its when they see what i can teach them to lay down then..... Best shot i ever took, well, one of em, was on a 18-55 kit lens and a 300D , or was it a 350 D...i can't quite remember. Anyway, my advice would be to forget raw, forget changing camera, invest in some serious glass. very true but i do like my gadgets

    the 5d gives you the option of one touch raw it you require it, it also has has both cf and and an sd card slots, raw files are much larger and will fill the cameras buffer a lot faster than jpeg if your shooting a lot of shots very quickly even with a high speed pro cf card., bur raw is the way to go if you want the ultimate in post picture editing,

    my answer to that would be no, but i do prefer using the 5d over the 7d, the auto focus system on the 5d mkiii is light years ahead of the 7d, as is its ability to handle high ISO`s in low light conditions, if the 7d mkii adopts these abilities with its crop sensor and faster shutter speed then it will be some camera, the 5d can track a moving object within entering or leaving its focus points.

    forgot to mention,rumour has it that canon are releasing the 7d mkii towards the end of this year and it will have some of the good features that the 5d mkiii has, so if you are intending to by new then personally i would wait and see how the new 7d mkii is received,

    where the 5d comes into its own is its 64 focal points system compared to the 7d`s 19 plus its ability to handle higher iso so its far superior in low light conditions

    i have the 5d mkii and the 7d if its action shots then the 7d is the one as its a crop sensor and is quicker by 2 frames per second, couple this with an 70 - 200mm f2.8 IS USM lens and you wont go far wrong, the 5d mkiii has a full frame sensor so the shots will appear further away than with the 7d`s crop sensor if that makes sense, the 7d is also about a grand cheaper,

    so a zero at 32yrds would be the same as 125yrds with an inch out to that distance
