There's Some Good Eggs On Here
Dead Eyes replied to Dead Eyes's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
The guys I go with just use one length of chain and clips or carabiners at the ends. You've got a handle and a collar of sorts then too -

We're completely legal on pest control for a shoot. She's not for use as a strong dog - look at the size of her by my feet on the pic of me holding the fox Although In all honesty, and as much as it pains me to say it, yes I have. She doesn't look it but she's now 17.5kg Her chest is a very similar size to that butty black Terrier but realistically it's not gonna happen -

Kraken is very keen. Pepsi is too needy to want anything but my side at the minute. If you look at me holding the black dog she's actually skulking around my feet there as well -

Creating A New Line Of Working Terrier?
Dead Eyes replied to Lenmcharristar's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
its not just about plummers it's about using the different types to create a new breed or should I say type, not trying to reinvent the wheel, just a thread on different opinions and genetics in lines and out crosses. Foxdropper had an ace thread but pulled it If you want some good reads on breeding then look into game cocks and the breeding there - they can try out all the theories around in a much shorter space of time -

Creating A New Line Of Working Terrier?
Dead Eyes replied to Lenmcharristar's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
Sort of, yeah. These breeders on here saying that you shouldn't outcross, including those who I really respect as breeders like Foxdropper and Dillydog, I *presume* are saying this because the lines and dogs behind the outcross wonderdog are unknown If you have an outcross Russel from a man you hunt with for years and know his traits and dogs then adding it to your Patterdales *if it woks the same* is fine But everyone works for their own reasons. Some need size and some sleight, some need bayers and some need something else. Some need leggy and some need short. If the Russ -

Don Mayfield is perhaps the greatest conditioner of all time. But he wasn't known as the greatest breeder by a long shot -

GENERAL My fault entirely. I thought you was the thread starter - hence my big assumption that you're asking because you want to breed yours ?? -

that's the type, just workers to workers, do you breed your own now general? and have you any pups off them that workedNo I don't breed as I only have dogs. It's been 8 years from I had a bitch in the yard and I lost her to ground. Not to say I wouldn't take another bitch in the future though. All my dogs have been gifted to me by friends, digging partners or just genuine terriermen that asked would I like a pup from there litter. They're all bred from good dogs and bitches but each dog has completely different lines in the sire and dam side and none the same line in any of the other dogs. Non -
WM It wasn't me that suggested 600k pups I've previously seen pups in your garden and they looked in fine fettle. As did your garden too if I remember rightly I'm not 100% buying the bit about "taking the breed forward" - that was all - if they're not registered then can't be added into the root stock currently out there. Not when they're pushing towards recognition Mole; I'm pretty sure he'd cull for health issues. I'm not speaking for the man and don't know for 100% though

So you just breed for £££ then ?3 litters a year for last 5 years, Ching Ching. He ain't trying to better the Plummer terrier. He only wants to line his pockets. That's the sad reality of puppy farms. 15 litters in 36 months, that's an average(ish) litter every 8 or 9 weeks, he's a canine factory. That's some god damn awful maths ?I did say "ish", 36 months(4 weeks in a month) =144 weeks divided by 15 litters is exactly 9.6 weeks, so wasn't far off.there is more than 4 weeks in most months so there is 156 weeks in 3 years (36 months) A litter every 10.4 weeks when there's 52 weeks in a year mu

These are the plans someone forwarded to me White board Base 54" long 16" wide, leave side bords 10" longer than Base, rollers are 4" waste pipe 15" long leave a gap of 2" between Base and edge of roller, roller is set up by catering wheels with rubber cut off them so they slide into the pipe they are set on threaded bar with lovk nuts and held in position with adhesive, carpet same width as rollers and about two and a half times as long as Base border plus rollers you'll have to judge when you have it together, angle of bord is up to you but about 30 degree seems to be good When doi
