I can remember before the basin or backies as us locals call it was a nature reserve ....my old man taking me out on the mud as a kid at that end which was very popular especially in a North wind ....there used to be a light at the grave yard that gave you something to head for when coming off the mud after a night flight

Was there a few years ago when there were estimated ,000 pinks coming in. It made the BBC news that evening. Was by the church watching them come in, nothing short of spectacular. The numbers have been growing the past couple of years ...was that the church on the north shore sleepyhillock by the big grave yard

I will try and get a video of them dropping into Montrose basin too roost ....it is one of the wildlife wanders in the uk seeing the vast numbers like this ....I heard today thT there's over 100,000 in already but will try and find out whT the last count was

I will do fella ...the wee dog is doing grand ...I really can't believe it I was worried about the dirty water in his lungs and my vet told me to just keep pumping the antibiotics into him ....that was a week ago and he seems like nothing has happened ...time will tell once I start grafting him again

Any of you lads make your own dog mince ?...I usually have a days mincing every month ...managed to get my hands on a big industrial Hobart mincer that was only £200 the same as what I was paying a month for my dogmince getting delivered It's not the best fun gutting and skinning over 200 rabbits at a time Last session on Saturday I had mackerel ,rabbits, de breasted pheasant carcasses,blue hares ,lamb and roe front ends,ox hearts a whole roe buck and a deboned red staggie.... Managed to make enough mince for me and a mates dogs for a month . These big hobarts are good bits

What a fukin prik .....I would go back fella and re read my posts ...I was polite and even offered free salmon fishing like I have done to a few lads on here ....and how you thought saying "tight lines " is beyond me ....a saying i probably say to fellow fisherman on a daily basis and I have never had that response . hopefully I never have to share the bank with you

The video doesn't do it justice there were more on the ground that what was in the air ....will have a do maybe Friday

I've been using the new DNV battery pack the past few nights in the pulsar thermal NV ...a big improvement to the EPS5 not as much battery life but enough for 1 night and with no Leeds it makes life easier ....thanks Ianb for great service once again

Where are you getting that type of salmon fishing at that price at this time of year ? Our price goes up to about £200-£250 per day per rod this last few weeks
