    famous old saying then is it you get out what you put in Another one; 'You cant get rats from mice' That is just what I was going to say Doxhope you can put all the time into a dog and im a great believer in you get out of a dog what ypou put in but if it doesnt have it it doesnt matter what you put into it but everybodys standards are differant if you want a dog just to catch a few and your happy thats the main thing .On the other hand if you have high standards and want a dog that is a good un good blood is one of the most important things .

    Good vid differant from how I do it but the end result is the same but I was always taught to cut the legs of at the flat joint and any of the stalkers on here will tell you the same. Its not important but if I was to cut the legs of like that when I was younger I would of got a proper cxnting . I like seeing someone take pride when dressing out beasts

    Boring boring boring change the record Markbrick just accept what your dogs are . Good rabbit dogs no more no less they are too small to be classed as anything else especailly good allrounders the way you have desrcibed them in the past

Im a great believer in letting pups out at a very early age its great for there confindence to get out amongst it but they a re given very little in the way of a chase like every one agrees with keep them winning but running a pup . But running a pup does nothing for stamina it will just give them problems in later life especaily bigger lurchers . I would expect most pups to be doing a bit by 8-9 months and above but 4 months they should not be running at quarry

    He says he never has his dog on a lead while lampin does that mean he didnt have it on a lead at 4 months imo thats the problem . A 12 month old dog is more than capable of taking 20 rabbits if its the right breeding ,type right time of the year and on the right ground no problem

    Thats spot on its all about knowing the pup as they all mature physically and mentally . But a 4 month old pup is to yooung to be out running rabbits after it misses a few it will start jacking or opening up . Mine will be out at 4 months but like Kane says to build up confidance get yousd to smells sights and sounds I had a young un that dropp a roe buck pre ban at 7 1/2 months it was not meant but the dog was mentally a nd physically up to the job but I wouldnt of purposely slipped the dog ,but it got up in front of him and there was no stopping him

    Have to disagree that there is no reason to not let a pup see anything until its 12 months it all depends on the dog but imo 4 months is too young to have a pup out lampin off the slip .

    Im agreat believer in taking pups out at a n early age but they are kept on the slip. I have read the article and will scan it tommorrow he says that running a pup early at 4 months build up its stamina . WHAT A FOOL KEEP THEM WINNING
