    I use bells on mine,and i keep a old tooth brush in my pocket to clean what mud i can from them while in the field.

    We lost one of our few weeks ago,same kind of ting we waited till dark but nothing so i left the ferret box by the hole and filled others in and in the morning there was one sleeping ferret so don't lose hope.
