To much hard work need decent sized tanks , frequent water changes and smell.

    why don’t you get a tortoise ?
so long you get decent enclosure  so dogs can’t chomp it , if you get a horsefield or Herman’s get a combined uv/heat spotlight bulb , you can go round weed picking, obviously make sure it’s in area not been sprayed with weed killer , stuff like dandelions , wild plantain and cleavers/goose grass /sticky bud tjen dust it with nutrabol and limestone powder for its vitamins for shell growth ?

We've got a horsefield tortiose for the kids brilliant pets tbf. Leave him in the garden all summer long, dogs don't bother it he just rooms around eating all weeds easy to care for until hibernation time.

Autumn time drop him in his enclosure with uv and heat lamp on when needed.

With all that's happened with our energy prices over the last year or so, Is sticking to the tried and tested old fuels the way forward in the long term?. I have been told by people that test are currently being carried out that consist of over sleeving our existing gas pipe network so that hydrogen can be pumped down them, This way there is less infrastructure changes needed during the transition, i have also been told that electric cars are a none starter and not to buy one as hydrogen fuelled cars will soon be on the market.

All are furnaces at work are gearing up for hydrogen but they can also run on gas.

Think hydrogen is going to be the future

Thanks lads I was thinking a wee sachet of diorlyte salts with water just?,I know I'm probably over thinking, but he's physical an fast an does a bit of mileage in the game.

Get him some SIS hydro tablets, hydration tablets for physical exercises. They help replace all the lost electrolytes and salts that is lost through sweating.  Drink upto 30 mins before and even half time.

You just dissolve them into 750ml of water and no sugar

That should keep him topped up.

The flip side of the lads that own multiple runners is churning out untested pups meant to catch the ear of anyone who will listen .I’d rather of gone to a yard with the one well worked bitch and pups than a yard full of whatever’s in fashion all looking fresh and clean muzzled .

For me the graft came before anything and despite the claims of some that dogs escape scars or are very clever ?I’d still like to see a few medals on a dog no matter if it’s only rabbits .A trier will pick up a few medals at some point in its career be it barbed wire or teeth .

Agree 100% if a dog does teeth regularly it doesn't matter how clever it is or whatever, it's going to get battle scars.

Them dogs have that serious look in their eyes. Both look like they where top dogs

  6. Aot of hound breeds are dying out. Shame as they are brilliant at what they do but takes a certain type of person to handle them

Read a feed the other day otter hounds here the reaest breed followed by the bloodhound which was surprising to me as I have one here and wouldn't wish one upon anybody ??

When were younger everything that moves goes in the bag as the years go by and we have been there done it, the thrill of the chase, picking harder runs and sometimes just tootling by admiring quarry leaving them to run another day fits the bill, well it does for me anyway.

    Couldn't describe it better myself.

Let's not pretend were all hunting to feed our starving families, I hunt because I enjoy it no other reason.

Second that, I hunt because i love to see the dog and quarry running. If I can get the dog off before any real damage is inflicted I do.

I admire the quarry I don't want to kill every one

I was gifted a teckel pup from imported working parents, but I'm a running dog man so gave it to my brother when he had his old Jack Russel put down,

Some people think they are terriers, but they're not; they're hounds, and if you don't want to see yours  disappearing into the distance, on a hot scent, never to be seen again, train it well, or invest in a tracker collar ! ? !

    Cheers.

I know that feeling with the hounds, iv a bloodhound once she is on a scent no amount of shouting is bringing her off of it.
