I got the chance to go over my local farm today, so I was up at the crack of dawn in order to setup. Once on the farm and all setup I quickly noticed there was not a pigeon in the sky for as far as I could see. I didi not have one shot at any pigeon all day. Im now sitting in front of the computer and looking out of the window I still can't see any flying around out side as normal. Any ideas as to why this happens? Cheers

We had a welcome break from the rain yesterday so I popped over to my local permission with my shotgun and a few pigeon decoys to see if I could bag a few woodies. I was using my old full bodied decoys and had borrowed the farmers shell / stackable pigeon decoys as the shooting hide is a good 15minute walk away and i needed to be kit light. After a great day and a few misses I managed to bag a pigeon for the pot! When looking at the Shell Decoys in the shop i wasn't sure they would perform but once in the field they looked fine and carrying 12 of them back to the farm was no struggle.

Hi Guys, I'm currently using Hull 7.5 21g Comp x cartridges for my Clay days. They are the cheapest I can find at the moment and perform well however any help with regards to any cheaper shells would be great. I buy my shells in the 1000 / 4 slabs at a time for the best prices this normally lasts me a month / 4 clay sessions. Thanks

If asked about flocked decoys; the image below speaks for its self when both decoys are placed next to each other in the field. I almost take flocked decoys for granted and have almost for got what my old plastic ones look like. http://fieldsportsshootingsupplies.co.uk/blog/

Fibre Wad Verse Plastic Wad Shells
Windage!! replied to Windage!!'s topic in Pigeon Shooting & Decoying
Thanks Nick, I just bought 200 clear pigeon in 6 - 32g as the shop was out of eleys. I was surprised there really isn't too much off a price difference and too be honest, air gun ant above is so right leaving plastic over your shoot is not good. Hopefully if it stops raining the silver pigeon will see a field again! -
Whats envolved in the tuning process?

Last year I was out Decoying Crows and attempting to call them in from afar to land in my decoy patter. The day very slow; Id only had a shot at one Crow and missed completely! To my left about 200 yards away was a small dead Oak tree, I took the legs off of 6 decoys I had on the ground and put the ground peg though the decoy then tapped it to a lofting hook I use for my Pigeon lofters and put them in the tree as high and visible as possible using my pole. This quick in the field adaption / mix of kit seemed to work well as the sport picked up and soon after, this method saved the need

Decoying Crows Whens Thd Best Time To Do It
Windage!! replied to lampingking's topic in Pigeon Shooting & Decoying
In the summer I'm up as early as i can to set the decoys up then have a kip in the hyde if needed. I use about 30 full bodied crows, i find the more decoys the better. -
I find if the magnet is spinning to fast it can scare off the pigeons so try slowing it down and it saves the on the batterie time

I use Fuds because i have to walk to my hide location when parked at the Farm and saves two trips when using full bodied decoys. Iv had some good bags but equally good using fully bodied decoys. Shot birds are the best but i like to eat mine!
