    my kits are now 5 weeks and 5 days and 4 out of the 6 are fully open which are all polecats and the sandy jills just opened fully tonight but the albinos still arent fully open

    I was just wondering what wOuLd be the best age to wean the kits onto solids they are 4 weeks old now and I put a bit of a rabbit in and the jill ate most of it but i did see a few of em sucking on it

    The hob I got at the start of the summer last year off my ferreting partner i got after doing a whole season ferreting with him in 2011/2012 was from his fathers strain which he has continued on.He only gave it to me under the condition i didnt sell him on then at around christmas this year his dad who ferrets the odd time with us got a jill off one of his friends who has had the line 20 plus years said it to me about taking a jill on the same condition i didnt sell her on

    had my first proper count and look at the kits today with ferreting partner as he came up to see his ferrets for next season counted them all i have 7 kits jill is doing very well eating all her grub and looking after them well but one of the kits seems to be deformed or disabled it has no tail half of his left back leg and 3 quarters of its right back leg any ideas on how this happened atb Andrew

    My jill is due her first litter of kits within the next two weeks she has started nesting I have a home for all the kits I may keep a jill myself i have loads of food for them plenty of bedding is there anything else I need..also pics of kits born already this year would be good to see
