  5. Not gonna bother with hare mate as said, in saying that though if I was going to go for hare I don't think I would start on rabbit. Personally I think conditioning them on rabbits for hare isn't the way to go because they are two totally different flights and a lot different in how they fight once caught. If I was gonna fly hare I would start with hare first so they don't seem a big step up from rabbits
  6. No mate, the flip clips will hold them just fine though
  7. No hands slaps whatsoever mate Not sure how long it lasts but I can get 1000+ shots out of theraband easy
  8. Ye mate but its 0.40 latex so its really thick
  9. Cheers mate, good going yourself don't think I will risk hare with the size of her. If it happens it happens but I'm not going out for them specifically. Gonna try for a rabbit tommorow. If not going to go to some water that should hold a duck or similar.
  10. Kill number 1: And we're off, missed a rabbit after a determined flight. Then the ferret bolted two rats. A big and little one at the same time. The hawk took off the fist and smashed the first one after a decent flight through the brambles. Jumped in to stop it biting her. Gave her a little shoulder meat before trading her off. Absolutely buzzing and a new species for me with the hawks. My worries are now set aside and one things for sure, she's seriously quick
  11. She's just flew full length of a big field into a flock of crows, caught one then as I was running over almost breaking every rip on my ferret box she let it go! Gutted. Sat here waiting for a ferret to make an appearance while she's patiently waits above
  12. yeah it's going well mate, it's a new young female Harris that my mate has got this season, so it's been good to see the whole manning process and training etc from a wild as stink bird, got her flying 50 yards on the creanse now and taking the lure...... Hope to have her free flying next week. Think I'm gunna go for a male Harris as I've got more feather than fur to go at, plus be good to work a male alongside my mates female.... I've been reading your thread on your bird, being a pain in the ass but she'll come good once you get it entered :-) Loved my male but he always struggled pinning ph
  13. Ye it feels mint getting back into it. Up first light tommorow for some ferreting
  14. I coped mime the day before she went free and she was good as gold. Never flinched and was fine afterwards. Hawkingyorkshires male however wanted to rip my face off after lol
  15. No worries mate he looks great, good feeling when they finally give in.
  16. Just got in and had a really enjoyable hour out. Hawk was at ideal weight but with the wind o decided to go into the woods. Had one flight on a squirrel that she flew hard but lost in the trees. Only flight we had but her response has been bang on. Just needs to learn to pick the right branches for the trees instead of trying to land on bunch of leaves and she will be fine. Only had an hour because I've been out with my mates golden eagle. Put some miles in and didn't see 1 hare! Finished off by him catching a ferreted rabbit.
  17. Nice shooting bud. How did the hawking go? Out in a minute myself try and get the first kill with her
  18. The weight is perfect and the ergonomics are fantastic and so versatile
  19. Thanks mate, the flip clips are bang on but you need a screwdriver to change them.so I'm gonna adapt them to take thumb screws when I can
  20. Mine was £20 from the simple shot website + Postage
  21. Aha I don't blast them from close range just not worth it because it makes it too easy. I missed quite a few more than I hit. On the floors the hardest way to shoot I think
