just by reading that it dont look promising mate, my feo said to me if you cant abide by the law and have a speeding ticket it doesnt look good nevermind anything more serious, give them a ring and see what they say, worst they can do is say no and try again in a year or 2 and keep your nose clean -

first shottie i used for years and was hooked, had a play with a few once sgc came through and my gamekeeper has one, recoil is like my 20g hushpower so good for my shoulder as had an op and not fixed yet, he swears by it and its the gun he uses most often, if i could afford one it would be in my cabinet now wheres my lottery ticket -
http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/226904-bsa-r10-price-drop/ going by what there selling for me personally would pay 600 ish, 650 at very top if i saw and fell in love with it... but i have been called tight a few times lol, on the + side i know a few people have them and think there pretty good, gamekeepers, hunters etc ..if you get a good one im sure you will be happy with it, all the best steve

in a word yes, when i rang my feo and head office they said to me that if i hadnt told them about being a suspect the chances are that would be an instant NO on getting a sgc, the reason being as if they think you are hiding anything then whatelse have you been upto, so when i rang and explained i completely forgot about being a suspect but readily handed over fingerprints and dna at a later, explained i wasnt arrested as i had nothing to hide etc etc they put it straight on file over the phone... now rather them find out from me rather than police checks down the line, so if i was anyone ap

back to the question, if using .177 like i do now in my pcp at the ranges for ratting i use flatheads with pinpoint accuracy out to 25yards + in my .22 springer i always used domeheads... a nice clean head shot would do the job equally aswell with either of my air rifles, use a pellet thats accurate out to the range you will be shooting at and 9/10 you will get a clean kill, on the odd occassion no matter what you do you may get a wounded one and then its follow up fast with another shot or a club(spade, piece of wood).....all the best steve

no one got a half decent 20 bore for 200 ish quid? maybe more depending on what it is, please no hatsans though, cheers steve

im serious, no joke..... told feo and put on application and was granted as i wasnt arrested, although a suspect and no ones been charged i readily handed over fingerprints at home when they came, i handed over dna a month later when they came, i have nothing to hide... i answered there questions and lucky for me although the murder was a year earlier it was the weekend of my gals birthday so i knew exactly where i was and what i was doing.... but still honesty when applying is the best thing to do.... all the best steve

put everything mate, 12 months ago i was questioned about a murder and am still on suspect list, although i havnt heard anything from cid in 6 months im sure there not bothered about me no more, when they came i openly handed over fingerprints, a month later dna was found so they wanted that.... i was a suspect and told my feo, put everything down on application and upon last chat with feo and there head office if i had with held this information i would not of got my sgc, however as i was open and honest they had no qualms to issue a cert to me and also no qualms for fac when i choose to go t

End of the day mate you might find like me its an expensive route lolol, got air springer and pcp for places not suitable for anything else, now got a hushpower for places near to houses as thats where im concentrating at the minute, now after a semi and over n under ..... then will put in most likely for .17hmr or similar... seems theres a tool for each job and my toolbox is quiet empty :-) good luck

as already said they will dig up whatever past you have to not allow you an sgc/fac my sgc application was a complete farce and me telling them the law to get things done, like i said though i had a gamekeeper who knows his stuff pointing me in the right direction, would help if you intend to go out hunting to have permissions already set in place, http://www.basc.org.uk/en/departments/firearms/certificate-forms-and-fees.cfm go there and download a form and will give you an idea of what they want to know mate and if theres anything youre not sure of askaway on here. im lucky as i di

bought some town and country with liners and thermal socks for 35 quid, had a year warranty against defects and comfy as anything for me, did a days beating in them without wearing them in and was well happy
-
went out beating for the first time and needed some wellies as my wellie boots (15 quid from aldi's) wasnt upto the streams, swamps lol... was looking at hunters and all sorts and ended up grabbing a pair of town and country wellies and some hotties thermal socks with a wellie fleece liner, total cost 35 quid and warm and comfy as anything ive ever worn, so for me trainer wellies for woods after a rain etc and half decent wellies with liners for the rough stuff :-) all the best steve

Sgc was a doddle, took about 12 weeks from application to cert in my hand was told by my gamekeeper just to be honest about any crimes etc which i was , had a friend who was referee and gamekeeper to prove i had land to shoot on and the need to have a shotgun, feo interview last an hour and a half and missus had to be here and was question wether she was ok me getting a shotty, asking about our relationship, medical history, wasnt hard just boring lol...... all i would say is read your local police guidelines on firearms and follow there procedure as my feo and head office dissagreed on so

tried it once crop had been harvested, found a nice hedgerow ,tucked myself well inside and set up deeks, i did it in a V with point of the V nearest me and the furthest at my 40 yard range, in no time there was interest and popped one over a nice clean headshot, next 15 minutes had a few fly by and couldnt work out why they wouldnt land.... wasnt long before we spotted a buzzard homing in on our deeks and nothing came close while he was stood there waiting... was good fun, something new but gamekeepers laughed at me making hard work of it and talked me into getting a sgc which i have now got

New HW100 do i need to oil the stock?
steve_7 replied to appletree318is's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
when i got my hw100 it was dry as a bone, first thing i did was remove stock and rub in some parker hale walnut oil, only needs a bit and rub in with the palm of your hand, you will know when youre doing it right as oil warms up nicely... an old boy once told me when doing stock for the first time... rub in daily for a week, once a week for a month, once a month for a year........ i did mine everyday for a week a year ago and only done once since, really brought the markings out, looks good and doing the inside i know if damp gets in there its also protected...all the best steve -
i had feo round for interview after 4 weeks and said shouldnt be a problem, i left it 4 weeks and rang head office and they said theres no problem, been passed for sgc and just needs signing and to ring at the end of the week which i did, they checked and my cert was bottom of the pile so they said they put on top .... rang back a week later and it went on lol.... but then came home one day and it was here, was 11 or 12 weeks from applying ( linconshire ) so not bad at all ... although they did mess me about and a good job my perm is with a gamekeeper who gave me great advice all the way..
